Job Description:

Intellia Therapeutics, a CRISPR/Cas9 company, is seeking a CAR-T cell scientist to lead the functional characterization of our allogeneic CAR-T cell products. This talented and highly motivated Senior Scientist will join our Immuno-oncology group. In this lab-based role you will develop and functionally characterize CAR-T cell drug products for our ex vivo portfolio. Prior IO cell therapy experience is highly desired as you will lead key aspects of in vitro and in vivo CAR-T development at Intellia. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities. Intellia is a cross-functional team first organization, as such experience working well in teams in an industry setting is key.

  • CAR T cell generation, functional assessment and immunophenotyping
  • Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues to execute in vivo studies to assess CAR-T cell anti-tumor efficacy and safety using mouse models
  • Work collaboratively with other biologists and protein engineers
  • Creative thinking to propose and implement innovative cell engineering approaches to expand company's preclinical pipeline and intellectual property
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental protocols and results
  • Stay up to date on the latest scientific and technology advancements in the field

  • MS or PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, or related field with typically 8+ (MS), or 5+ (PhD) years of relevant experience
  • Strong expertise in human T cell biology and in vitro functional assays utilizing human primary T cells; experience with CAR T, TCR-T, or a related cell therapy platform to target hematologic and/or solid tumors is required
  • Hands-on experience with in vitro and ex vivo phenotypic and functional assays of primary human immune cells, including multicolor flow cytometry, cytotoxicity / cytokine assays, MLR, and cell tracking in vivo is highly desired
  • Hands-on proficiency in primary immune cell isolation and culture
  • Experience working with cell-line derived, PDX, or GEM murine tumor models
