We are looking for a highly motivated Medical Affairs Intern who is passionate about patient-centric care in the oncology or infectious disease therapeutic areas. Candidate must be a self-starter. You will play a critical and exciting role in helping the Medical Affairs organization support current and developmental therapies.

Duties and Job Functions

Independently manage projects related to analysis of novel, emerging data and determine relevant information to incorporate into medical content

Support Medical Affairs US-focussed activities, including advisory boards, publication and conference-related initiatives, and insight collection and analysis

Contribute to the creation, review and updating of assigned Medical Affairs slide decks and medical training documents, ensuring documents are aligned with the Medical Affairs Plan of Action (POA) and needs of the field-based Medical Scientists and other end users

Work collaboratively with Gilead personnel across multiple functional areas, including Commercial, Marketing, Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance and Epidemiology, Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal, and with other subfunctions within Medical Affairs, including the Value and Managed Care team, Global Medical Affairs, Medical Affairs Outcomes Research, Independent Medical Education, Learning and Development, and Medical Information

Complete medical review of promotional materials tailored for both healthcare professionals and consumers as part of the Promotional Review Committee (PRC)

Analyze complex trial data and provide interpretation to outside departments in various venues

Assess data from medical conferences to assess/gather relevant information and support activities related to conference deck development and training

Provide training within the therapeutic area on relevant topics for Medical Affairs and Commercial personnel and help create and review new hire training materials

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD or other advanced health care degree (also open to candidates who have completed a substantial portion of their advanced health care degrees)

Relevant clinical experience or interest in oncology or infectious diseases needed

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are required, with experience in preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations

Ability to utilize moderately complex scientific resources across a variety of different settings

Ability to work collaboratively and experience working on cross-functional teams
