Position Overview

Molecular Templates is seeking an accomplished and highly-motivated Scientist to join the Immunology group as part of the research and development (R&D) team. This position will be primarily lab-based and focused on the generation, characterization and evaluation of immune cell subsets and their interactions with immunotoxins. The Scientist will contribute to the strategic design of in vitro, ex vivo, or in vivo studies which will require expertise in utilizing flow cytometric and immunoassay techniques to evaluate immune-based approaches to leverage immunotoxin biology. The Scientist is expected to work on projects with minimal direct supervision and will be expected to apply good judgment within defined procedures and practices to define appropriate actions. The Scientist may work with more junior team members to train and mentor them. In addition, they may lead R&D projects to drive the forward progress of pipeline candidates at the discretion of the management team and in line with R&D priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently designs, executes, and troubleshoots experiments in order to evaluate activity of novel biologics and ETBs.
  • Analyzes data and draws logical conclusions to define further action and effectively communicate to team members and management in a timely manner.
  • Maintains knowledge of scientific trends, industry processes and pipeline target literature through readings, conferences and seminars in order to contribute to strategic development of novel ETB platforms.
  • Maintains knowledge of current scientific trends relating to immunology and immuno-oncology.
  • Documents all procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Conducts general laboratory duties, including ordering supplies and maintaining inventory and laboratory equipment as needed.
