VelocImmune (VI) Next is an innovative technology development group that creates and uses complex mouse models and functional assays to study antibody, oligonucleotide, and cell-based therapies across various therapeutic areas in R&D. We are seeking a talented, motivated scientist who has a strong background in Immunology to work in a highly collaborative research environment to support various cell and gene therapies, focusing on technology innovation as well as developing and progressing potential therapeutics.

As the Scientist, VI Next a typical day might include the following:
  • Designing and implementing new strategies to enhance T cell and other cell-based therapies, using Regeneron's state-of-the-art antibody and gene engineering technologies.
  • Analyzing candidate therapeutics using in vivo mouse models of tumors, autoimmunity, and transplantation.
  • Developing in vivo and in vitro/cell-based assays to screen and characterize candidate therapeutics
  • Developing methods to engineer and analyze hematopoietic stem cells and other primary cells
  • Suggesting and pursuing new targets/pathways and new technologies for improving humanized mouse models.
  • Investigating new technologies, independently and collaboratively, in antibody and cell-based therapeutics.
  • Supervising research associates and/or scientists.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a PhD in immunology, molecular biology, genetics or related fields with 5+ years industry experience. A strong knowledge base and a proven record of innovation and research accomplishments in experience with immunology, familiar with basic molecular biology techniques (cloning, PCR, CRISPR gene editing, etc.), flow cytometry and other standard immunological assays is required. Experience in one or more of the following is highly preferred: cell therapy and conditioning regimen; gene editing in primary cells; the complement system and/or FcR biology is preferred. Animal models for immuno-oncology indications, especially T cell based, is preferred.
