As a Senior Staff Scientist you will collaborate on the design and execution of biomarker strategies for clinical trials within drug development for our Neuroscience or Neurodegenerative diseases programs. We develop and operationally implement biomarker strategies to support both early and late stage drug development trials.
You will act as a project-level Precision Medicine representative for the implementation of multiple project-level strategies. This will enable our advances in target identification, indication selection, early indication of biological activity and patient stratification/selection within studies and program

A typical day may include:

Conducting detailed independent literature and technology reviews, collaborate with specialists in disease areas, and understand logistical and regulatory factors pertaining to implementation of clinical technologies. Interact with research colleagues, (e.g. Discovery Research, Molecular Profiling, DNA Core, Regeneron Genetics Center), clinical operations, colleagues from allied companies (as appropriate), and colleagues within all stages of clinical development. You will participate on selected teams and subteams as appropriate to ensure PM strategies are well articulated and incorporated successfully into development programs and will participate as integral team members for presentations to development team leadership.
  • Interacting with our operations partner and with internal labs, 3rd party labs or CROs to ensure clinical assays in assigned projects are fit-for-purpose (whether developed and validated internally or externally)
  • Delivering timely results from biomarker studies to individual project teams.
  • Contribute to the authorship of Precision Medicine technical reports, study memos and clinical study reports, data reviews and interpretations, scientific publications and recommendations to development teams and management.

To be considered for this position you should have a Ph.D. or an M.D. with 5+ years' experience participating on cross-disciplinary teams in pharmaceutical or biotech industry, including (preferably) 1-2 years in clinical development, with a track record of high impact in drug development. Experience in Neuroscience and/or Neurodegenerative Diseases research and/or drug development is required. Experience in basic, translational or clinical research related to biomarkers, pharmacogenetics, imaging, and/or other clinical technologies preferred. Basic understanding of technical, regulatory, clinical, and strategic aspects of these areas strongly recommended.
