Job Description Summary

This role is focused on the science of digital forensics. As a member of the Cyber Security Incident Response Team, this role is responsible for assisting with forensic preservation and analysis of evidence during cyber security incidents, as well as investigation support for requests from internal stakeholders, including OEC Investigations, Employee Relations, Global Security, and Legal.

The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with a strong analytical mindset and a desire for continued learning.

Responsibilities include:
  • Strong attention to detail, deep personal integrity, and high concern for data accuracy
  • Assist in engagements with internal business partners that involve support by the Digital Forensics team
  • Assisting the Cyber Security Incident Response Team during critical incidents by preserving and analyzing relevant forensic artifacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain positive relationships with our internal business partners and other teams within ISRM
  • Communicating forensic findings (written reports and verbal overviews) to both business and technology audiences
  • Analyzing systems, including system memory, to assist with cyber security incidents and investigations to determine root cause
  • Assist in the documentation of processes and procedures for the Digital Forensics Team
  • Enjoys researching Digital Forensics tools, techniques or processes and has a desire to continue learning
  • Dependable team player who works collaboratively with peers in a team-oriented, security response service environment
  • Comfortable participating in DFIR tasks including live response and volatile data acquisition and analysis
  • Conducting forensic examinations of digital and other multimedia evidence through the process of identification, collection, and analysis of digital evidence
  • Ensuring data is collected and preserved in alignment with industry best practices and AbbVie evidence integrity requirements
  • Collecting and analyzing relevant logs in support of investigations
  • Troubleshooting, researching, and resolving technical issues/limitations independently
  • Ability to work off-hours and on-call as required

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills:
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of NTFS
  • Experience with digital forensics tools within Windows and Linux
  • Experience with logging platforms that allow for quickly searching, analyzing, and pivoting of data
  • Experience using remote acquisition/analysis tools or endpoint detection/response agents across multiple OS systems for security log or data collections

Desired Skills:
  • Ability to analyze and understand technical information
  • Ability to author clear and concise reports
  • Ability to successfully interact with non-technical customers
  • Familiarity with forensics and eDiscovery concepts and processes
  • Familiarity with cyber security incident response concepts and processes

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 2 years of experience
