Position Summary:

The Sr. National Training Manager is responsible for supporting the sales training function within Horizon's Inflammation Business Unit. This position is responsible for designing and delivering training to field personnel. The Sr. National Training Manager will identify training needs/gaps of the field teams, propose innovative solutions, and deploy new and on-going training. The position is also responsible for managing and fostering the professional development of regional training managers. Additionally, the position will assist in organizing and planning internal training meetings/events. The Sr. National Training Manager will work closely to collaborate on various projects with several cross-functional teams including marketing, medical affairs, legal, regulatory, compliance, and other internal home office colleagues.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify training and development needs for the Inflammation Business Unit, propose innovative ideas, and deploy advanced level training
  • Design and facilitate instructor led and/or virtual training programs supporting various field teams
  • Enhance professional development of regional training managers
  • Develop standardized leadership development curriculum for sales leadership
  • Lead and organize the on-boarding process and Initial Sales Training classes
  • Develop and update training curriculum content as needed
  • Develop and update training content as needed
  • Support national and local conferences and events as needed
  • Partner with marketing colleagues to assist in creation and launch of new materials/resources for field personnel.
  • Assist in support key internal training meetings and events
  • Manage and ensure required training materials/content are successfully processed through the Promotional Review Committee.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.


Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry required.
  • 2+ years of sales training experience in the pharmaceutical industry required; strongly preferred for internal candidates.
  • Experience managing a team preferred.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands with a high level of initiative and independence required.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct field travel, as well as to travel to sales meetings, etc. including some overnight and weekend commitments (>25%) required.
  • Experience in content development and instructional design a plus.
  • Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional, proactive demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Qualifications Required for Internal Candidates (in addition to above):
  • Minimum of 6 months in current role (at time of application).
  • In good standing with performance expectation, HR and compliance.
  • Approval from direct manager and senior leadership.
