We are looking for a Temporary Senior Project Associate to join the Research Program Management Team. Using prior research and project management knowledge and experience, this individual will plan and coordinate the operational aspects of projects in order to facilitate their evolution through one or more functional areas.

In this role, a typical day may include:
• Teams: Liaise between functional areas to facilitate project planning. Provides support to and between functional area(s), including meeting logistics, as well as creation and maintenance of templates, standard methodologies, tracking and monitoring tools.
• Planning & Tracking: Utilizes project management techniques to identify, develop and maintain planning tools in support of the assigned functional area (s) in order to facilitate standardization, planning and coordination across disciplines / programs.
• Collaborations: Supports and coordinates joint collaboration meetings, tools and communications to optimize the teamwork environment.
• Information: Builds tracking tools and supports the implementation and administration of tools used by the assigned functional area. Develops and maintains the folder / organizational structure of shared databases, develops and supports SOP's, and processes for managing user requests, training, security matrices, etc.
• Communication: Ensures effective, accurate and timely communication within a department or functional area.
• Process Improvement: Works to assess and develop solutions to meet functional area efficiency and quality goals. Defines and documents working / best practices, procedures, and tools by performing analyses and preparing recommendations.
• Problem Solving: Identifies opportunities to develop tools and mechanisms for monitoring progress and problem solving within the function or department. Assists with defining and detailing working / best practices that can be used across other projects.

• Can develop good communication and working relationships with leaders and individuals within groups.
• Support continuous improvement processes and metrics for project / program practices, procedures, and tools.
• Are able to work cross-functionally in a matrix organization and support the high-level research operation plans.
• Will be comfortable interacting with senior management and/or executive level personnel on matters concerning assigned functional areas.
• Are interested in representing the department in relevant internal / external committees.

To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD, or a Master's with five years of meaningful experience, or a Bachelors with 10 years of experience. Basic knowledge of project management techniques and concepts as they apply to the drug development / pharmaceutical industry is required. We are seeking an individual who can balance multiple projects and priorities with excellent time management skills. Proficient in relevant software: MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. Experience with Visio and FileMaker pro is a plus.
