The Cell Culture and Medium Development Group within Preclinical Manufacturing and Process Development is looking for a motivated person to lead medium development projects for mammalian cell culture processes. He/she will perform studies at small scale to develop cell culture medium that improves cell growth, cell productivity, and/or product quality to support the extensive Regeneron clinical pipeline. The ability to lead research projects, design experiments, statistically interpret results, and communicate findings is required.

We are looking for an engineer that will work independently to develop new areas of research in the area of medium development.
A Typical Day in This Role Might Look Like:
  • Design and execution of cell culture studies in shaker flasks, ambr250, and bench scale bioreactors (50mL to 2-L scale)
  • Generate, manage, analyze, and maintain critical data in a highly organized manner
  • Coordination and interfacing with colleagues from other groups involved in the research process, including cell line development, bioreactor scale-up, purification, and manufacturing.
  • The position requires work on weekends and occasional travel to upstate NY
Daily tasks will include (but are not limited to):
  • Cell cultivation in shaker flasks and bioreactors
  • Benchtop and ambr250 bioreactor operation and maintenance
  • Medium and reagent preparation
  • Statistical Data Analysis
This Role Might be For You If:

  • You are capable of multi-tasking, working both independently and within a team environment.
This role requires a BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or Bio-related Engineering with 5+ years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and record keeping abilities to accurately record, analyze, and document development data generated are preferred. Candidates with experience in related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional Skills (preferred, but not required) - Ph.D. or prior industry experience strongly preferred. Experience with mammalian cell culture also preferred.
