JOB SUMMARY

Arranta Bio, LLC is a dynamic Biome and Plasmids contract development and manufacturing organization that is looking for leaders to bring the highest quality processes, products and testing to our clients. The Manager of Facilities will report directly to the site Facilities Director. The Manager of Facilities will be responsible for supervision of teFam supporting non-GMP facilities and services which supports office, lab, and manufacturing associated support areas at Arranta Bio's Watertown, MA sites. The focus of the position is to maintain the existing facilities and surrounding areas to enable all business functions on site.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

In operations, the Manager of Facilities is responsible for the daily support of building infrastructure and systems for the Watertown site. (S)he manages the Facility team engaged in maintaining building infrastructure, services, security, and grounds. The Manager will also manage service contracts associated with the facility, labs, and grounds. (S)he works with the site Engineering team and Global Engineering team to plan and manage operational budgets and capital investments. (S)he creates and maintains relationships with other Arranta Bio sites to develop and promote best practices and ensures compliance with Arranta Bio SOP's, safe work practices, and cGMP regulations. The position involves close collaboration with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Sciences, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and other Engineering teams to complete all responsibilities.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS

  • Previous proficient experience with CMMS software system(s)
  • Knowledge of generally accepted building and electrical codes in compliance with the Town of Watertown and the State of Mass. including but not limited to NEC, NFPA 70, etc.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Strong technical documentation review and revision experience
  • Experience with single-use technologies


  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Comfortable supporting multiple concurrent issues


Experience and Skills

EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the facilities/engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a functional or project management leadership position
  • Direct experience supporting building facilities and utility systems within a manufacturing/production environment is desirable.


  • Strong Experience managing service contracts, including Lab Services, Janitorial Services, Security, and Food/Beverage services.
  • Understanding of local and state regulations and permitting.
  • Experience with many or all of the following unit operations or technologies:


  • HVAC design and operations
  • Electrical distribution


  • Compressed gases
  • Steam
  • Boilers
  • Chillers
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)


  • Extensive knowledge in all disciplines of construction, especially GMP utility and cleanroom design/installation and quality control laboratory design/installation
  • Ability to set goals and direction for others
  • Strong understanding of industry standards for commissioning, validation, and operation of facilities and utilities for cGMP manufacturing and GXP laboratories


  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; written and oral
