PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting Global Logistics Finance processes, which cover all aspects of Logistics Category Financial Planning & Analysis through Actual/Update/Plan processes. Also, the SFA will work globally & closely with cross-functional business teams, Logistics leaders, and external Logistics partners to support Freight Payment Automation processes and Logistics Strategic Roadmap activities supporting the Digital Supply Chain emphasizing Data Analytics segments and Synergies/SMIs.

The SFA role will be exposed to complex International accounting and financial processes interfacing with Global functional areas, including Commercial Affiliates, Logistics, Manufacturing, Transfer Pricing, and Trade Compliance with Global communication and coordination.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting & Analysis - Actuals Process and Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit monthly Global Commercial Affiliate Freight Accruals, reclasses, and various cost allocation Journal entries.
  • Reconcile all aspects of Global Monthly Freight expenses working closely with Financial Shared Services team and US SAP IT team.
  • Process large volumes of Global Transportation Data and prepare standard Logistics KPI packages for Senior management review.
  • Closely support International Commercial Affiliate's various logistics spend related inquires and provide analytics, insights, and commentary as needed.
  • Consolidate and prepare the IPL Synergy & Sustainable Margin Improvement (SMI) process report for management review.
  • Validate and proof methodologies for SMI & Synergy savings impacts and monitor and track the progress of the programs.
  • Work closely with to 3rd Party Freight Payment vendor, SAP IT, Accounts payable, and Corp. Treasury to ensure all payment cycles are seamlessly executed and complete.

Financial Planning & Analysis - Plan/Update/LRP/LBE Cycles
  • Work with SAP IT team to develop EU Direct Distribution (DD) country outbound standard freight rates to implement SAP Freight Estimation Tables.
  • Work with Purchasing Service Management teams and Business Strategic Analysis teams to develop Global Transportation budgets.
  • Prepare Dashboards utilizing Power BI for the Supply Chain Leadership.
  • Develop Commercial Volume Demand Analysis to provide insight for Finance and Business management teams
  • Work with VLOG Netherlands Finance team to ensure all Freight Standards are properly captured and executed.
  • Work with PSM, BTS, and Global Logistics team to develop SMI & Synergy calculations and methodologies and align with PSM on IPL's reporting.

Finance Business Partnership:
  • Oversee and develop standard Logistics packages for management review and develop raw data into actionable intelligence.
  • Influence multiple key strategic initiatives and lead special projects providing financial leadership and support.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor ongoing Global Freight payment automation process, working with third-party vendor, freight carriers, and internal regional transportation managers.
  • Coordinate and support Global Transportation PO process and ongoing review.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Regional Transportation Managers to build a strong partnership with key stakeholders and to support various project implementations.

Internal Controls & Compliance:
  • Ensure financial results are recorded in compliance with AbbVie financial policies (CFM's), Sarbanes Oxley, and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Enforce and enhance internal controls by providing guidance and counsel to IPL business and affiliates in areas of Corporate Finance Manual (CFM) policies, divisional internal control procedures, and International policies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork skills. Strong business partnership skills.
  • Ability to communicate as well as influence through relaying complex data in simple terms.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the Corporate Financial Manual (CFM) and the ability to apply the correct policy to business issues.
  • Proven ability to turn raw data into actionable intelligence.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in systems, particularly MS Excel, TM1/ASPIRE, SAP, HFM, Power BI, and Qlik Sense experience is a plus.
  • Innovative with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Individual must be self-motivated, be able to work independently, and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree B.S. or B.A. in Business (Business/Accounting/Finance). CPA/CMA/MBA desired.
