The HR Business Partner (HRBP) provides human resources generalist support to employees and management in designated business units. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management and employees on Human Resource related issues. HRBP assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and seeks to develop integrated solutions. The HRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of knowledge regarding the organization, as well as core human resources functions such as employee relations, training, performance management, compensation, benefits, and recruitment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops effective relationships that promote company-wide trust and value for the HR function. Ability to build relationships with all levels within the organization. Works to understand and respond to the business and HR needs of employees. Provides thoughtful and helpful coaching to employees and seeks to build trust and credibility in all.
  • Handles employee relations issues and works with managers and employees to successfully resolve problems and sensitive matters promptly and ethically.
  • Collaborates on performance management processes across the company which includes goal setting and performance reviews. May include addressing performance issues and partnering with managers to create and implement action plans.
  • Partner with Director to implement L&D initiatives. Design, develop, and at times deliver training content that best meets the needs of the organization. Ensure development programs and content integrate seamlessly and build on each other.
  • Ability to strongly influence without authority. Proven ability to drive initiative from beginning to result. Comfortable standing alone in his/her/their convictions.
  • Design and support team performance workshops and business offsite events as needed.
  • Collaborative approach to business partnering.
  • Manage on-boarding and off-boarding process of employees.
  • Implement and support company-wide programs and initiatives. Partner with HR team members on special projects. May provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning. Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs. Determine training and coaching resources.
  • Not afraid to challenge status quo and not afraid of change but must take the time to be observant and make reasonable changes that might require time. Sense of humor is important.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Requires a Bachelors/Masters degree in Business Management or related discipline. An SPHR or other related certification is a plus. Equivalent experience may be accepted. A minimum of 8 years of experience in Human Resources is required with 2-3 years specifically focused on learning and development, including developing content. Experience working in a Human Resources function such as Recruiting, Training, Compensation and Benefits is a plus. Previous experience working in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device industry is a plus. Proven track record of successfully building and managing relationships with diverse employees ranging from managers to individual contributors. Can work with moderate to minimal direct supervision, has good judgment, and can analyze and strategize. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills along with an ability to multitask. A demonstrated business acumen is required. Excellent customer focus and relationship building skills. Must be able to work with a high attention to detail. Must be computer literate. Knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and HRIS required.
