Working with Engineering and Maintenance organization, operate and maintain production operation equipment and systems designed to produce pharmaceutical products. Candidate must have strong mechanical aptitude, and a self-starter with ability to work independently and willingness to commit to completion of formal apprenticeship training program that includes both classroom work and documented 8000 hours of on-the-job training. Good verbal and written communication skills.

Potential for exposure to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in‑motion, stooping, bending and heavy lifting. The proper use of the correct Personal Protective Equipment for each task as well as compliance with all applicable safety Standard Procedures is a must. Standard dayshift work week; however, might be a need to work variable shifts and 24‑hour on‑call as required. Participates in multicraft work activities as required.


Job duties include:
  • A Maintenance Mechanic is required to read and understand drawings / blueprints, utilizing this knowledge for the installation / repair of new and existing equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, modifies, installs, and troubleshoots a multitude of equipment.
  • This job requires the use of precision measuring devices, properly install pumps, agitators, and mechanical seals.
  • He/she is required to work with precision bearings, electric motor gearing, gearboxes, packaging machinery and related equipment.
  • The Mechanic also provides customer training in the implementation of those systems in compliance with company standards and procedures and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc). Can serve as a maintenance advisor in areas of engineering (process design, material selection, documentation, testing and problem-solving methodology, project scope and follow up).
  • Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and a proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost-effective manner.

  • High school diploma / general education degree (GED).
  • 0-2 years' experience in related field
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communications Skills.
  • Strong work ethic and the ambition to be the best.

  • Excellent computer user skills are preferred (Microsoft systems).
  • Blue print reading a plus
  • Electrical diagram reading a plus

  • Physical Demands: lifting/lowering up to 55 pounds; reaching; standing/walking/stooping/crawling.
  • Work Environment: Colleague must work near moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Use of hearing, hard hat, safety shoes, respiratory and eye protection is required.
  • Capable of traversing stairs, uneven surfaces, step ladders and vertical ladders.
  • Temperature conditions can be less than 32oF or greater than 90oF.
  • Participate in confined space entries.
