Associate Director of Finance - Forecasting

This exciting role, based in Irvine, is responsible to drive the financial revenue forecast process for Global Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie business unit with worldwide sales of $4bn. The role requires a data-driven mindset, an enthusiastic personality that is very comfortable collaborating in a matrix setting with high commitment towards (un-)anticipated deliverables. The position works closely with the VP of Finance, the Area FDs, the local country finance teams in key priority markets, senior commercial leadership as well as the individual US finance forecasters.

  • Provides leadership to development of statistically sound and appropriately supported demand forecasts in support of key financial planning cycles including Plan, Update, LBE, LRP for global AA
  • Builds and delivers a standardized process for revenue forecasting across the US and INTL (in 15 key priority markets) by building market models that reflect market share, market growth, in-market inventory and pricing assumptions.
  • Incorporates external best practices inclusive of latest financial modelling and advanced data analytical tools to drive a best in class forecasting function for AA
  • Provides executive level rational for revenue forecasting to senior global leadership at AA and corporate FP&A. Also summarizes performance variances vs. Plan, Update, LBE and LRP with respect to market growth, share or patient adherence (churn/frequency), working together with the different AA Finance and Business organizations
  • Builds out capabilities that will allow AA to leverage the AllÄ“ patient data pool together with the Facial forecasters and the Digital Marketing team to come to more refined forecasting models across customer and consumer segments as well as patient adherence (churn/frequency)
  • Understands & visualizes current market trends (franchise models, online distributors, buying group dynamics, customer segmentation...)
  • Partners with Global Commercial Development teams to promote alignment in forecast for pipeline products with regards to processes and assumptions
  • Partners with Operations to ensure adequate supply for new product launches and stable brands across AA globally
  • Provides ad hoc financial analysis as required to support US Commercial, Global or Corporate leadership
  • Works with all US Finance Brand Forecasters who report dotted line to this position


  • Has held senior finance leadership position at L-AGN or L-ABV in a commercial organization either at a regional or country level, ideally both. External candidates shall have experience in either a pharmaceutical or a CPG environment.
  • 12-15 years overall business experience, including 4-6 years of management experience leading an organization
  • Proven ability to utilize statistical and modeling techniques to create predictive analyses.
  • Ideally has experience with market model forecasting at a business unit or country level
  • Demonstrated to network/partner effectively across functional areas and with varying levels of management.
  • Experience applying accounting and financial principles
  • Master's degree
