What Your New Manager Wants You To Know

The Associate Director, HEOR position is for the Aesthetics therapy area which has four pillars supported by HEOR including Toxins, Fillers, Body Contouring, and Regenerative Medicine. This open position is for an individual interested in leading multiple product-indications across the portfolio. The Associate Director (AD) will be responsible for developing health outcomes research strategy and executing projects while under the supervision of the (Executive) Director to demonstrate the value of AbbVie's products both globally and for the U.S. market. Aesthetics is a cash-pay market; as such HEOR research is focused on patient reported outcomes (PROs) and treatment patterns. PRO related activities include developing PRO in accordance with the FDA guidance. Specifically, this research would entail developing/validating new measures, assessing patient reported treatment benefit in clinical studies, and conducting prospective observational studies. Other research responsibilities include leading real-world evidence studies using chart reviews and registries, systematic literature reviews, indirect treatment comparisons, and occasionally economic modeling. In addition, this role would entail leading interactions with regulatory agencies globally. Strong education and work experience in PRO research, statistics relevant for clinical and observational studies, and reviewing/editing scientific research documents (i.e. regulatory submission documents, protocols, study reports) are crucial for being a successful member of the HEOR Aesthetics team.

The Associate Director will represent HEOR at cross-functional team meetings such as CORE team, Clinical Sub team (CST), and Medical/Commercial Sub team. They will work cross functionally with other functions including Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Commercial. They will present health outcomes research findings internally to AbbVie and externally via congress presentations and manuscript publications. In addition, the Associate Director will build research relationships with key clinical and outcomes thought leaders, resulting in research collaborations. Managerial responsibilities will include executing contracts, managing budgets, assisting in the hiring, training, and development of direct report(s) (e.g., Manager, Senior Manager). The Associate Director will also serve as a leader within GHEOR for departmental activities and for other internal AbbVie initiatives representing the GHEOR department.

The employee must conduct their work activities in compliance with all AbbVie internal requirements and with all applicable regulatory requirements. AbbVie internal requirements include compliance with ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, and general business policies, requirements, and objectives.
