Job Summary:

The Cellular Engineering Scientist will be responsible for performing research under general direction to generate data supporting the application of MaxCyte's scalable, electroporation - based transfection technology for modifying primary mammalian cells, stem cells and immortalized cell lines. This individual will design and conduct experiments in MaxCyte's laboratories in Gaithersburg, MD as part of team of internal scientists, but s/he will interact regularly with field - based application scientists and collaborators. S/he will also work closely with members of MaxCyte's Sales and Marketing teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Designs and executes experiments focused on modifying primary cells, stem cells and cell lines with an emphasis testing reagents and developing protocols for non - viral delivery of gene editing reagents, mRNA and multiple DNA formats.
• Conducts analytical assays and packages data for marketing collateral, conference presentations and peer - reviewed scientific publications.
• Maintains accurate, timely and detailed records of work; communicates and presents findings in internal and external meetings.
• Represents MaxCyte and promotes findings to the scientific community through webinars, scientific publications and conference/trade show presentations (oral and poster)
• Works collaboratively with the sales and marketing team
• Stays current in scientific advancements via reading publications and articles and may provide summaries to technical and non - scientific personnel
• Writes manuscript, SOP's, data reports, and research summary reports
• Complies with all applicable policies regarding health, safety, and environmental policies

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Cell Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or relevant area and at least 3 years of experience designing and conducting experiments related to primary hematopoietic cells, hematopoietic cell lines, immune cells and/or stem cells; or equivalent
• Hands on experience in primary cell engineering, cell therapy and/or immuno - oncology
• Expertise in cellular modification techniques, including CRISPR/Cas - 9 and related technologies.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and position data for use by Sales and Marketing
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to create solutions
