Kite seeks an IT System Manager, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), to provide Technical leadership and be the Global IT MES point of contact for Kite. This resource will design, develop and manage all multi-functional deliverables and partner commitments required to support and maintain the MES system within Kite.

This role will define and deliver Kite MES information technology roadmap, implement and evolve system SDLC, provide technical support for global system rollout at all Kite manufacturing sites, establish global support model and ensure the delivery of end-to-end MES IT Operations in a distributed landscape.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Partner with Site IT heads and MES/Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) to deliver the MES system to support Tech Ops strategy.
  • Participate heavily in requirements collection and definition phase and lead the design of high-level solutions and provide necessary business context into technical design discussions while working within defined enterprise architecture and platform standards in collaboration with MES/Automation CoE team.
  • Lead execution of establishing a technical roadmap and vision for MES globally which enables delivery of Kite's Manufacturing strategy.
  • Align MES technical roadmap with Gilead and Kite infrastructure project portfolio, CoE GMBR strategy, information security, GxP compliance requirements and enterprise architecture.
  • Lead System Lifecycle Management of MES and all outbound application interfaces; develop and lead portfolio of MES solution artifacts throughout the solution portfolio lifecycle from the new product definition to end of life.
  • Partner with MES vendors to ensure the effective execution of the projects and services on MES technical roadmap including oversight of project scope, SLAs and critical metrics.
  • Serve as a technical domain specialist to the organization and customers, act as IT solution architect mapping customer requirements to software capabilities of MES ensuring optimal technical implementation.
  • Design and implement global MES Support model, build support teams and establish SLAs and key operational processes. Lead the development of Service Agreements, Maintenance Agreements, Operating level agreements to enable end-to-end MES support delivery.
  • Provide Support for technical implementation activities during functional requirements and design, cost and timeline estimation, and assist in the management and communication to Kite's partners.
  • Provide innovative solutions for the customer by using the full capability of the MES system.
  • Support IT project estimates/proposals and lead internal continuous improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Advanced scientific degree (i.e. MD, PharmD, PhD) OR
  • Master's Degree and 6+ years' experience in Information Technology OR
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years' experience in Information Technology OR
  • High School Degree and 12+ years' experience in Information Technology

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Implementation and support experience with Werum MES
  • Solid understanding of concepts of and hands on experience in MES systems architecture, installation and version management
  • Good understanding of RDBMS database and solutions, virtualization and high availability for distributed systems
  • Experience on GxP applications (and good Documentation Practices) and working in SOX audited environments is a plus
  • Experience designing and implementing Incident, Problem Change, Version, Release, Configuration, Continuity management for critical manufacturing systems at scale
  • Experience with Master Data Management
  • Track record working in a fast paced, highly iterative environment
  • Good communication skills. Ability to communicate complex solutions and value in business terms, adapt and learn to changing business environment and domains is a must
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Business Process Management or related discipline or equivalent number of years of work experience
  • Experience in Life Sciences is preferred.
  • Experience leading ITIL and/or DevOps practice at a large regulated company preferred
