Our mission:

Developing curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

At Intellia, we are committed to solving the complex challenges of making CRISPR/Cas9-based medicines a reality for patients suffering from genetic diseases and to create novel engineered cell therapies for immuno-oncological and autoimmune diseases.

Intellia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated bioanalytical Senior Research Associate to join our team. The primary responsibilities will be to execute mass spectrometry-based methodologies to investigate, monitor, and quantify complex samples comprised of proteins, nucleic acid, lipid nanoparticles (LNP), and/or viral material to further the development of CRISPR/Cas9-based therapeutics. This position will characterize protein and oligonucleotide impurities, conduct metabolic profiling experiments, and preform top-down and bottom-up proteomics. This position will work closely with research scientists to identify and/or quantitate macromolecules using the latest extraction, separation, and detection methods. These include extraction from biological matrices, separation techniques such as liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis, and high-resolution mass spectrometry. This position will develop assays to quantitate biomarkers for emerging programs and will collaborate across multiple departments including pharmacology, toxicology, formulations, RNA chemistry, protein synthesis, and analytical development. He/she will be responsible for data analysis, review, and communication of findings with internal and external partners. Applicants should have exceptional laboratory skills, in depth knowledge of mass spectrometry and proteomics, and strong communication skills (both written and oral).

    • Execute various in-house bioanalytical mass spectrometry-based assays to support pharmacology, BDPK, and toxicology studies of CRISPR/Cas9 based therapeutics
    • Develop mass spectrometry-based assays to assist in answering biological, chemical, structural, or process sciences research questions
    • Develop assays to quantitate and execute newly defined biomarkers for CRISPR/Cas9 therapeutic candidates
    • Compile assay qualification and bioanalytical reports and communicate findings
    • Conduct experiments independently and in collaboration with colleagues in support of project goals
    • Provide routine instrument maintenance

    • Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of industry experience or Master's Degree with 1 year of industry experience. Degree must be in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
    • Knowledge of analytical separation techniques (liquid chromatography, electrophoresis) and analytical detection methods (optical, mass spectrometric)
    • Experience in designing and troubleshooting new bioanalytical assays
    • Ability to work with blood and tissue-borne biological samples
    • Experience with software for quantitation of proteins, small molecules, oligonucleotides and peptides
    • Familiarity with IND filing and regulatory guidance is a plus

What Intellia Stands For:

We push boundaries. We are focused on positively disrupting health care treatment of patients with genomic diseases. The values we live by and drivers we look for are:

- One is respect for individuals; our unique qualities and strengths; our own ways to understand, learn and improve. One is our single-minded determination to excel; to succeed together. One is you and us - trusting and counting on every single one of us.

- Explore because we seek new ways to tackle disease. Explore with unbounded from assumptions, open to ideas. Explore by staying curious, by pushing boundaries, overcoming obstacles. Explore means thinking of new ways.

- Disrupt by thinking courageously...and creating a better future. Disrupt by defying conformity; interrogating the status quo; questioning our momentum. Disrupt with challenging thoughts...with that breed of skepticism that shows you have better solutions.

- Deliver with your focus on the objective and your determination to complete the task. Deliver by advancing relentlessly and by maintaining high standards...even when nobody is watching. Deliver by staying accountable and pulling your weight. Deliver because patients are counting on us to make the promise reality. Get it done.
