Our mission:

Developing curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

At Intellia, we are committed to solving the complex challenges of making CRISPR/Cas9-based medicines a reality for patients suffering from genetic diseases and to create novel engineered cell therapies for immuno-oncological and autoimmune diseases.

The Platform Biology team within Intellia provides molecular biology support for many in vivo and ex vivo research activities from target discovery and validation through preclinical efficacies studies. This work requires the generation of numerous viral and non-viral vectors to study conditions for optimal gene knock-out and/or targeted gene insertion. We are expanding the team to execute on our strategy to become the world's premier gene editing company.

Intellia is seeking a highly skilled Scientist- Vector Biology to join our Platform Biology team. The ideal applicant is an experienced molecular biologist that can work closely with target discovery and validation teams to help design, generate, and QC lentiviral (LV), adeno-associated virus (AAV), and non-viral vectors. The position will also generate custom sgRNA libraries for various target discovery efforts. Experience with state-of-the-art molecular biology methods is a prerequisite ; experience organizing plasmid/library repositories is highly preferred.

    • Work cross-functionally to design, generate, and catalog LV, AAV, and non-viral vectors
    • Develop and implement company-wide “best practices” for QC of plasmid-based vectors
    • Design, generate, and QC pooled CRISPR sgRNA libraries
    • Optimize workflows for handling, prep, and QC of CRISPR screen samples
    • Troubleshoot experimental problems
    • Communicate research and development findings to internal and external teams

    • PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related area with 0-5 years of industry experience
    • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate scientific results in internal and external presentations and publications
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast paced team environment
    • Experience with standard and state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques
    • Experience with LV and AAV vector design, and assembly of lentiviral libraries
    • Experience organizing and managing plasmid databases
    • Knowledge of NGS technologies, data analysis, and functional genomics
    • Ability to perform multiple work streams simultaneously and interact cross-functionally
    • Experience managing a small team is a plus

What Intellia Stands For:

We push boundaries. We are focused on positively disrupting health care treatment of patients with genomic diseases. The values we live by and drivers we look for are:

- One is respect for individuals; our unique qualities and strengths; our own ways to understand, learn and improve. One is our single-minded determination to excel; to succeed together. One is you and us - trusting and counting on every single one of us.

- Explore because we seek new ways to tackle disease. Explore with unbounded from assumptions, open to ideas. Explore by staying curious, by pushing boundaries, overcoming obstacles. Explore means thinking of new ways.

- Disrupt by thinking courageously...and creating a better future. Disrupt by defying conformity; interrogating the status quo; questioning our momentum. Disrupt with challenging thoughts...with that breed of skepticism that shows you have better solutions.

- Deliver with your focus on the objective and your determination to complete the task. Deliver by advancing relentlessly and by maintaining high standards...even when nobody is watching. Deliver by staying accountable and pulling your weight. Deliver because patients are counting on us to make the promise reality. Get it done.
