Associate Director, Marketing Analytics

WHAT YOUR NEW MANAGER WANTS YOU TO KNOW:

"We are a team that believes fundamentally in the ability of analytics to drive business performance. If you're passionate about driving growth and want to operate in a nimble team that can shape the trajectory of a large organization, I hope you keep reading on. I'd love to meet you and discuss the impact we can have together."

*YOU ARE more than just a title, YOU ARE...
  • The analytic force behind our strategy - You are the Head of Marketing Analytics for Allergan Data Labs - the consumer marketing and digital innovation engine for Allergan Aesthetics. You are responsible for analytics that shape our business strategy, provide clarity on the performance of marketing efforts, and shape our product and technology vision.
  • A leader and influencer - You don't just take data requests - rather, you coach the organization on the right questions to be asking and how to use data and analysis to solve them. You mentor and develop a team of analysts and BI engineers and provide them with crystal clear prioritization, ensuring focus on the work that has the most potential to drive business performance.
  • An advocate for rigor and precision - You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and dig into the weeds - you derive energy from understanding all the nuances and making sure the analysis is fully buttoned up. You set high standards for yourself, your team, and the broader organization, fostering a culture of analytic rigor.

YOU WILL:
  • Be a trusted and expert partner. Work with your colleagues to formulate the right questions and drive to insights that shape critical business decisions. Advocate for the business decisions best supported by the analysis.
  • Own the numbers. Design and oversee the execution of rigorous quantitative analysis, ensuring consistency and accuracy. Ensure the methodology for our analyses and the conclusions are well understood throughout the organization.
  • Be a leader. Provide mentorship, clear direction, and opportunities to grow for each analyst and BI engineer on the team. Provide thought leadership and technical oversight to data analysts and BI engineers to enable them to better hone their craft. Be the primary point of contact for cross-functional partners including data engineering, performance marketing, and product engineering.

Qualifications

YOU BRING:
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in roles with a strong focus on analytics and BI, including experience leading a team
  • A strong business acumen - an ability to understand the real 'question behind the question,' and the judgement to shape the analytical path forward
  • Strong communication skills and a high degree of comfort going toe-to-toe with executives to influence decision-making based on data and analysis
  • High degree of proficiency in advanced SQL and in data visualization (e.g. Tableau)
  • Expertise in designing the backend of reporting solutions, including designing data schemas and ETL processes
  • Bachelor's degree required

OUR CORE VALUES:
  • Be Humble: You're smart yet always interested in learning from others.
  • Work Transparently: You always deal in an honest, direct and transparent way.
  • Take Ownership: You embrace responsibility and find joy in having the answers.
  • Learn More: Through blog posts, newsletters, podcasts, video tutorials and meetups you regularly self educate and improve your skill set.
  • Show Gratitude: You show appreciation and return kindness to those you work with.
