We have an immediate need for multiple Sr. Associate Training and Development to join AML's Inspection and Packaging Organization. This is an outstanding opportunity to seek a variety of challenges and responsibilities in support to our manufacturing facility at Amgen Manufacturing Limited in Juncos, Puerto Rico.

What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will under limited supervision, delivers training programs to support business needs. Performs on-the-job training demonstrations and coaching sessions in a learning lab or actual production environment. Conducts classroom training. Works closely with assigned client groups to assess and meet training needs.
  • Recognize and report malfunctions or procedural deviations
  • Act as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for specific technical areas (e.g. buffer prep, media prep, dispensing)
  • May perform revisions on routine SOPs or other business documents and review documentation for assigned functions (e.g. equipment logs, routine area audits, batch records)
  • Initiate Non-Conformance records as appropriate.
  • Performs classroom or on-the-job training in a learning lab or actual production environment.
  • Responsible for effective delivery of training to client group. Includes classroom, one-on-one, and on-the-job training. Could also ensure effective delivery of eLearning courses.
  • Works closely with assigned clients, in their work environment, to understand and assess specific training needs.
  • Communicates client training needs to local training management.
  • Responsible for delivery of solutions to meet the specific training needs of assigned clients including GMP trainings as needed.
  • Occasional off-hours training delivery (second & third shift, weekends) may be required to meet production demands
  • Delivers initial and ongoing training for new hires and transfers. Facilitates transition of new hires/transfer-ins from training environment to work environment.
  • Facilitates the assignment and un-assignment of training courses/modules for staff members.
  • Provides guidance to client on compliance and regulatory issues.
  • Participates and/or leads inspections activities.
  • Coaches and develops SME certified trainers within client area to be effective trainers.
  • Assists in review of "human error" related incidents: identify need for additional or modified training interventions for affected staff.
  • May provide input into the implementation of corporate core curricula and standard learning processes.
  • May participate on global training teams as assigned.
  • May include small scale training design projects to meet local client needs.

Master's degree

Or

Bachelor's degree & 2 years' experience

Beyond that, additional preferred qualifications are:
  • Manufacturing experience in a biotech or pharma environment.
  • Organize, coordinate and prioritize tasks and activities with an ability to perform assignments with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Excellent Documentation skills
  • Training delivery experience preferred
  • Basic problem-solving and project management skills
  • Solid understanding on computer software programs including: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Good interpersonal, group facilitation and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, able to speak and write English and Spanish fluently and strong technical writing in both languages.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Amgen's business and culture, and ability to work effectively with staff at all levels
  • Able to accomplish results through own work and through influencing client staff members and management
  • Must be able to lift and/or move lab equipment, chairs, tables, room dividers and/or audio/visual equipment to set up for training programs, meetings and conferences (35 pounds, 4 feet high)
