The Director, Digital Medical Affairs & Innovation, focuses on identifying, implementing, scaling and effectively managing digital platforms and programs across Medical Affairs worldwide across Novartis Gene Therapies (GTx). This role strategically manages digital platforms and programs with an enterprise-mindset ensuring key stakeholder alignment and continuing to demonstrate agile innovative thinking for evolving current state to future state.

  • Drives the 3 key pillars of next generation HCP education, Digitizing the MSL journey, and HCP engagement/insights & analytics to action.
  • Drives Digital Asset Management and enhancement by focusing on developing a holistic worldwide digital platform and programs strategy that is agile and can adjust to regional, functional, or other stakeholder requirement while operating with a focus for streamlining disparate platforms and initiatives across Medical Affairs.
  • Serves as organizational digital influencer and owner for scaling specific innovative Medical digital programs and platforms with speed, agility, and enterprise thinking.
  • Strong focus on driving digital transformation as it relates Medical HCP engagement and education.
  • Drives decision-making with stakeholder alignment around future opportunities for how Medical Affairs can seize untapped, unexplored, or nascent digital platform & programs initiatives. Ensure initiatives are \u2018fit for purpose' and driving operational excellence.
  • Focuses on scaling innovative digital programs across functions with primary focus on transforming Medical engagement, execute effective and timely program management in coordination with other Digital Medical Affairs team members, ensure proper development and training for stakeholders.
  • Ensures appropriate review processes are implemented and adhered to across relevant stakeholder groups like Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Privacy, etc., ultimately presenting (or partner in presenting) digital program expansions to applicable approval (ie, Medical Review).
  • Partners closely with functions including (1) Medical & Field Medical teams, Med Info, Sci Comms, Operations, (2) Commercial Digital & Commercial Excellence, (3) Clinical Development/Translational Medicine Digital & Data, and (3) Novartis Global Digital to ensure connectivity and synergistic approach to digital programs.
  • Collaborates with Procurement/Sourcing, Legal, and other functions, as it relates to process efficiencies for working with Digital companies or on Digital projects.
  • Effectively manages Digital vendors (internal & external) and GMA Digital Budget.
  • Other related job duties as assigned.

  • Bachelors' in Life Sciences with 10 years strong experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in Pharma; MD, PharmD, PhD in Life Sciences (strongly preferred) with 5 years strong experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in Pharma.
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills, strategic & innovative mindset, operational excellence & quantitative roles/experience.
  • Strong digital acumen with demonstrated experience scaling / growing projects (preferably within Medical Affairs function).
  • Agile-thinking and demonstrated experience building or scaling projects and ideally, digital programs and platforms.
  • Strong change management & culture building capabilities.

The level of this position will be based on the final candidate's qualifications.
