Scientist/Senior Scientist

We have an immediate opening for a Scientist/Senior Scientist in Fremont, CA. This is a hands-on lab role. The highly distinguished individual will bring their industry experience in CE (microfluidics) separation technology and/or Mass Spectroscopy system development. Ideal candidates will bring Six Sigma/Design excellence experience to the role.

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Develop and optimize protocols and reagents for cIEF-MS assay
  • Create and execute system integration plans
  • Create test procedures, specifications and acceptance criteria
  • Create and execute verification and validation plans
  • Troubleshoot failure at component, module, and system levels
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure the highest design quality and performance
  • Analyze test results and prepare technical summary/reports
  • Work with marketing to meet product requirements

Qualifications:

  • PhD, MS, BS in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related field required.
  • 0-7 years (PhD), 7-15 years (MS, BS) of industry experience required. Hands-on experience in biopharma analytical work, instrument development work for analytical systems, or development of consumables, reagent and biochemical solutions for complex analytical systems.
  • Highly proficient in either mass spec operation, electrospray for intact proteins or capillary/ microfluidics electrophoresis of proteins.
  • Expertise in CE-MS or LC-MS is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills for oral presentations, customer discussions and written technical reports required .
  • Experience with six sigma and design excellence.
  • Experience with design and execution of V&V plans.
  • Experience with jmp, r, matlab for data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in electrophoresis, mass spectroscopy, assay development, protein biochemistry, protein isoforms/variants analysis, instrument and consumable development.
  • Goal-oriented, highly motivated, creative, and able to collaborate within and among teams and disciplines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and foster professional, constructive relationships as part of a team while also working independently to produce data and meet challenging timelines and goals.
