We Are Genetic Navigators bringing together passionate, creative and dedicated professionals to join a rapidly-growing startup on our mission to translate novel genetic insights into lifesaving medicines. We are integrating human genetics and functional genomics to decode the mysteries of genetic modifiers, leading us to new medicines we'll develop for a range of severe diseases.

We are seekingan exceptional, hands-on researcher to contribute to challenging projects in drug discovery and target discovery, with an emphasis on CNS disease. We are modality agnostic and campaigns may include both small molecule and biologic therapeutics. Target discovery will require careful and creative design of next-generation screens to search for modifiers of disease. Successful candidates will contribute directly to the design of novel disease-modifying therapeutics and the development of new target concepts.

We are seeking an exceptional, hands-on researcher to join our drug discovery efforts in CNS disease. Our scientists wear many hats to tackle whatever experiment, assay, or screen is necessary to develop high-impact medicines. As a member of drug discovery and target discovery teams, the candidate will take on a range of studies including design and testing of biological therapeutics, target validation, and biomarker development. The scientist will also engage in target discovery efforts by leveraging our functional genomics platform, using next-generation screens to search for modifiers of disease.

Your Role in Navigating The Maze:
  • Design and perform in vitro and ex-vivo experiments for target validation and mechanistic studies in support of therapeutics development
  • Support the development of assay strategies and engage with members of the team in experimental design, troubleshooting, sample analysis, data interpretation, and report generation
  • Work well independently and in collaboration with colleagues across various functional areas.
  • Present data in group and project team meetings

Your Navigation Tools:
  • PhD or BS/MS + >5 years experience in an academic or industrial setting.
  • Ideal candidates will have a depth of research experience in cell and molecular biology and assay development and a broad range of additional laboratory skills
  • Specific experience is highly preferred in at least some of the follow skillsets, with the expectation that the candidate will rapidly acquire new skills where needed:
    • Molecular biology
    • Cellular biology (high content imaging, primary cell culture, functional genomics)
    • Assay development (biochemical and cellular)
    • Histology and pharmacodynamic assay execution
    • Analytical techniques (Python and/or R)
    • Experience with nucleic acid-based or viral therapeutic modalities
  • Excellent data analysis skills and experience with a variety of scientific software applications is required
  • Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, time-management, and organizational skills and are required
