Application Scientist - Global Support

Your tasks
As a member of the Miltenyi Biotec technical support team in San Diego, you will be providing advanced global technical assistance in response to customer inquiries for our full line of cellular and molecular based products. Your personal consultations will range from experimental design to troubleshooting, and the application of MACS® products in our customer’s workflow. In addition, you will collect, analyze and communicate data required for analysis of product performance and assist with the development of programs for product trainings. Altogether, your customer-focused understanding and superb level of teamwork skills will help Miltenyi Biotec showcase itself successfully and professionally, and as a result grow the sales of the company overall.

Requirements:
• Ph.D. or M.S. in Cell Biology, Immunology, Hematology, or a similar field and a minimum of six years of experience in the biological sciences, immunology; a solid understanding of procedures, concepts, and lab experience; a thorough level of familiarity with cell processing and/or flow cytometry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. FDA regulations, as well as experience in clinical immunology, cellular therapy or blood banking/processing.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, evidence of insurance / insurability and ability to receive appropriate clearance to access restricted government accounts.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Schedule does include weekend shifts.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature controlled, handicap-accessible facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in an office environment. This job also requires the person to be mobile to visit customer sites, vendor shows, and demonstrations. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature. Used research/clinical equipment may be handled in this job and strict SOPs and PPE must be worn. All persons performing this job will receive appropriate training prior to engaging in work requiring PPE or SOP procedures.
