Job Description

As a member of the US Cell Therapy Marketing team, Sr Manager, US Marketing plays a key role in in executing the Brand Strategy. In this role, s/he will lead the marketing strategy for Yescarta in DLBCL. They will focus executing the speaker bureau, executing advisory boards, and leading congress planning in support of overall US brand strategic imperatives. This person will be responsible for developing and executing the regional congress plan and supporting the execution of national congresses. Responsibilities will also include planning and implementation of appropriate pre-launch and post-launch advisory boards in collaboration with the indication marketing leads. This role is also responsible for understanding the US market, identifying key dynamics impacting utilization and sharing insights across the Yescarta Brand team to help shape the US strategy.

This role reports to the US Brand Lead in Santa Monica, CA. The candidate must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and a patient focus that drives the need for quality deliverables and performance.

Responsibilities include
  • Lead the execution of the Yescarta Speaker Program
  • Lead execution of US advisory boards
  • Execute Brand presence and participation in national and regional congresses
  • Collaborate with indication leads to execute the overall brand strategy
  • Analyzes complex problems and situations, provides logical recommendations and leads any required action planning.
  • Lead and manage the work of multiple external strategic partners including speaker bureau and advisory board agencies, meeting vendor and internal departments including marketing, market research, legal, regulatory, medical affairs, payer/access marketing, corporate compliance, and information systems
  • Lead projects through the legal, regulatory, and medical review process
  • Ensure brand promotional messages and strategies are pulled through speaker bureau content
  • Manage marketing cost center budget for speaker programs and ad boards in coordination with team members as appropriate
  • Engage often with opinion leaders to develop advocacy and ensure creation of high impact, high value marketing tools and engagement


Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma with 12+ years of relevant experience in marketing, market research and/or pharmaceutical sales

OR

Associate's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in marketing, market research and/or pharmaceutical sales

OR

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in marketing, market research and/or pharmaceutical sales

OR

Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience in marketing, market research and/or pharmaceutical sales

OR

PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience in marketing, market research and/or pharmaceutical sales

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or other advanced business degree is desired
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high priority projects with excellent interpersonal skills enabling them to manage, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions, pharma industry guidelines, and other compliance-related issues
  • Thorough understanding of both the clinical aspects and business of hematology / oncology
  • Familiarity with marketing fundamentals, strategy, sales and commercial policies and practices
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets
  • Comfort with uncertainty and demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment under tight timelines and independently determine appropriate action where precedent may not exist
  • Results-orientation with a bias for action, sense of urgency, and tangible results
  • Ability to drive influence across stakeholders to set direction, align work efforts, and ensure outstanding execution
  • Strategic orientation and ability to quickly adapt plans in response to a rapidly evolving market
  • Experience working closely with field sales leadership & organizations to implement marketing programs with measurable business impact
  • Outstanding project management skills and experience managing multiple vendors and agency partners
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
