Electrical Maintenance Technician - Electrical Apprentice

Admin shift (M-F 6:45am - 3:00pm)

What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will assist in the performance of electrical system operation and maintenance activities throughout the ARI site.
  • Support the Amgen Licensed Electricians on daily routine electrical work as an Electrical Apprentice
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of backup power / emergency power generation systems and Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS).
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and assist with repair of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Support operation and maintenance of Building Fire Alarm systems including assisting with operation of the system and troubleshooting activities.
  • Interpret and update loop sheets, electrical schematics, P&ID's, I/O wiring, and panel drawings.
  • Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner.
  • Identify waste, workflow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assist with implementation.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree and 2 years of Electrical Maintenance experience
  • OR
  • 2 years in a technical school setting with hands-on experience
  • OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 4 years of Electrical Maintenance experience

  • 3+ years of combined education, training, and experience in industrial electric operations and maintenance and instrumentation/measurement and controls
  • Ability and desire to work to obtain Rhode Island Class M Electrician License
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form
  • Theoretical understanding of control, analog and/or digital electronics, microprocessors and/or computers
  • Effective computer skills
  • Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams
  • Receptive to guidance and technical advice from others
