Ovid Therapeutics (NASDAQ: OVID) is a New York-based biopharmaceutical company using its BoldMedicine™ approach to develop medicines that transform the lives of patients with rare neurological disorders. Ovid has a broad pipeline of potential first-in-class medicines. The company's lead investigational medicine, OV101, is currently in development for the treatment of Angelman syndrome and Fragile X syndrome. Ovid is also developing OV935/TAK-935 in collaboration with Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited for the treatment of rare developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEE).

MEDICAL SCIENCE LIAISON

Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for identifying and fostering relationships with national, regional, and local practitioners and researchers within a specified territory. This individual is responsible for developing and enhancing professional relationships with medical thought leaders. The MSL assumes leadership of special projects and provides coaching and mentoring to other members of the Field Based Medicine team.

Responsibilities
  • Identifies, establishes, and maintains clinical and scientific relationships with Thought Leaders (TL's) in both academic and community settings. Successfully connects TL's internally to serve as advisors, investigators, expert guest speakers, or business development partners
  • Acts as primary liaison to investigators interested in developing and performing investigator-initiated studies
  • Provides clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions in academic, community and healthcare provider setting in both group and one-on-one situations.
  • Provides clinical trial support by identifying, assessing capabilities and providing scientific support to qualified research sites.
  • Helps with other internal stakeholder in building TL engagement strategy
  • Engage in peer to peer scientific exchange of complex clinical and scientific information
  • Adhere to corporate and health care compliance guidance in all activities, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups, and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information
  • Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in company's therapeutic areas of interest
  • Establish and maintain ongoing long-term collaborative relationships with HCPs (including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals) within assigned territory
  • Provide support for content development and delivery of clinical presentations at Advisory Boards, as requested and speaker trainings
  • Delivers quality medical education presentations to Grand rounds, disease state meetings, hospital, managed care and national accounts (pharmacoeconomic and scientific data).
  • Coordinates and actively participates in executing Ovid's strategy at scientific meetings by identifying relevant sessions, assigning MSL meeting/booth coverage, and proactively facilitating TL interactions with Ovid stakeholders.
  • Actively participates in and contributes to MSL or cross functional projects and initiatives, frequently assuming a leadership role.
  • May assume additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements
  • Advanced scientific degree (i.e. MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, NP/PA) strongly preferred
  • May have a Pharmacy, Nursing or Related Health Sciences advanced degree
  • Experience must include a minimum of 3 years clinical, industry, or research related job responsibilities
  • Previous MSL, Medical Affairs and/or other industry experience required
  • Existing relationships with institutions, practices, and/or hospitals in territory strongly preferred
  • Neurology experience highly preferred
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication
  • Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe®
  • Ability to travel frequently by (50-70%), including overnight travel
  • Must live in the territory
  • An established track record of effective and influential oral presentations within the healthcare profession.
  • Current working knowledge of US legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines relevant to industry interactions with healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes and FDA regulations preferred.

· Proven ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid and Current Driver's License
