The Senior Staff Scientist will support our Imaging Group within Early Clinical Development and Experimental Sciences. The ideal candidate will have a background in translational imaging to support the development, with the emphasis on early phases of clinical development. implementation and quantitative evaluation of novel imaging biomarkers. We need someone who will provide strategic and technical expertise in the design and implementation of imaging as applied in clinical studies across therapeutic areas. We will play a key role in the analysis of large-scale image datasets to inform clinical development plans. We work collaboratively with internal research and clinical teams as well as collaborators and contract research organizations to support the qualification of imaging biomarkers and their application to therapeutic development.

A typical day may include the following
  • Guide clinical development teams about the selection of suitable imaging measures as endpoints for clinical studies across therapeutic areas
  • Design and implement qualification studies for imaging biomarkers
  • Leverage large imaging datasets to perform proof-of-concept imaging analysis to inform clinical development plans across therapeutic areas.
  • Supervise image analyses from Regeneron clinical trials and evaluate central lab, CRO, and collaborator performance.
  • Explore novel ways to analyze clinical imaging data.
  • Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning in medical image analysis and supervise/support development of algorithms for clinical image analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a minimum of a PhD or MD/PhD in quantitative field (e.g. biomedical engineering, computer science, physics etc). We prefer 4 + years of proven experience performing analysis in clinical/translational imaging datasets (MRI, PET, SPECT, OCT). Additional quantifications we find useful are Mathematical / statistical proficiency; Programming proficiency (e.g. Matlab/C++); Solid understanding of imaging computing
