Job Details
As the Immunologist in VI Next, a typical day might include:
- Leading the development and/or improvement of genetic modifications to overcome challenges in developing mouse models that emulate human biology.
- Suggesting and pursuing new targets/pathways and new technologies for improving humanized mouse models.
- Supporting research and development of novel therapeutics utilizing humanized mouse models and novel cell-based assays.
- Managing a team of scientists to create team synergy and to drive research programs.
- Participating in innovative discussions with senior leadership in our collaborative, cross-functional team environment
- You are highly organized, flexible, and able to coordinate multiple projects independently
- You have strong communication skills, including both written and oral communications
- You have excellent presentation and communication skills
- You are an innovative and inspiring leader who can actively participate in meetings with leadership and can collaborate effectively with external research groups
To be considered for this role you must possess a Ph.D. in immunology, molecular biology, genetics or related fields with 10+ years industry experience. Extensive knowledge base and a strong record of innovation and research accomplishments in experience with immunology, familiar with basic molecular biology techniques (cloning, PCR, CRISPR gene editing, etc.), flow cytometry and other standard immunological assays is required. Experience in one or more of the following is highly preferred: generating human immune system mouse models; mouse and human secondary lymphoid organ architecture and function; human and mouse hematopoiesis, including essential cytokines, soluble factors and stromal cell crosstalk; the complement system and/or FcR biology; animal models for immuno-oncology indications, especially T cell based, is preferred; understanding of innate and adaptive immunology in mouse and humans is preferred.
