Job Summary:
The Global Medical Affairs (GMA) - Oncology Associate Director, Technology Solutions will support GMA Government & Operational excellence team as a Business Implementation Lead to manage GMA Oncology technology related business implementations in close collaboration with GMA business leaders, liaise with DS Information Technology department, cross-functional and regional stakeholders. Assess and track business requirements, implementation risks and operational gaps, in conjunction with key stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Quality Assurance and GMA subject matter experts) and develop mitigation strategies. The role will also support steady state maintenance, training and enhancement management of GMA business applications. The role will report to the Director, GMA Oncology- Tech Solutions under Governance & Operational Excellence function.

Responsibilities:
As a Business Implementation lead, the role will be responsible to establish and manage tactical oversight of end to end technology implementations and associated timeline and risk management (short term and long term) per roadmap for GMA oncology (For e.g. initial focus on MA ClinOps solution, MI&E programs to begin), identify system and process related needs supporting GMA Oncology business functions, as well as planning and managing enhancements/ resolutions in close coordination with DS Information Technology department.
  • Establish oversight on tactical project interactions and execution with technology partners and external vendors, provide progress updates to program initiative leader.
  • Develop overall program plan with initiative leader and IT PM, track milestones and provide inputs into associated risks and follow-up with stakeholders on mitigation actions.
  • Create and manage the end to end project plan for sub-modules of phased implementations and provide inputs into the overall program plan
  • First point of review for all deliverables produced to business from external vendor/IT counterparts. Ensure that business priorities and needs are rightly reflected in application documentation. Establishes application clarity and accuracy.
  • Lead defining and executing system migration plan in the transition phase from short/mid to long term solution working closely with IT development/testing team. Proactively raises potential challenges with IT and monitors progress.
  • Define and manage business requirements with business leaders, monitor them through implementation and ensure all application documentations, configurations are in place and an application handover for steady state maintenance and administration thereof is appropriately done. Proactively raise any associated risks and suggest proposed remediation plans.
  • Assist in researching, planning, and recommending software choices to satisfy the organization's business requirements.
  • Support teams in identifying and troubleshooting technical / non-technical problems. Escalate issues/risks in a timely manner to program team, GOE leadership and DS IT units, as applicable with mitigation plans. Bookkeeper of all project and program level business related risks and mitigation/actions for implementation projects.
  • Collaborate with vendors to implement enhancements and perform user acceptance testing.
  • Assist in providing specific updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to appropriate groups and User Manuals of program.
  • Maintain strict adherence to internal policies and internal controls within organization.
Acts as the GMA Business systems administrator of technology short term/existing solutions (starting with OnCollab for MI&E). As long-term applications for GMA (E.g ClinOps, MI&E programs) gets rolled out in phases, will also take over as the GMA Business systems administrator of a portfolio of applications with appropriate support and work closely with the IT support teams.
  • Lead change management activities related to the application(s) including but not limited to change requirements, assess business impact on changes to the application, project planning and management of module implementations and oversight of all associated technology project documentations, configurations and trainings in collaboration with business leads of the department.
  • Define, document business needs and interface with IT counter parts in explaining the needs in a clear & consistent manner in alignment with all business stakeholders.
  • Maintains all system master configuration files, training materials and monitor support email groups. Responsible for user and permissions management, including profiles, permission sets, roles, owners, role hierarchy, etc.
  • Develops reports, dashboards, and processes to continuously monitor data quality and integrity.
  • Represent and coordinate user acceptance tests on all custom software for functional and performance discrepancies with all stakeholders.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Business Administration with relevant professional experience or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
  • 6-9 years of strong project management and business systems analysis experience running large scale strategic phased technology solution implementations, system requirements definition, process modeling, training and application support management
  • Experience working with functionally diverse cross-functional senior stakeholders (at Global/Regional and Country levels) for technology implementations on business side.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience and Medical Affairs experience is preferred. Knowledge or hands on experience project managing Medical Affairs - Medical Information & Medical Education related technology /mobility related solutions and/or Clinical Operations related Investigator Initiated Studies and Early Access Programs knowledge is an added plus.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills specifically with external product/technology vendors/ partners and internal IT department.
