We are currently looking for a QC Scientist to join our newly developed Quality Control (QC) Robotics Automation team. In this role, you will perform assay automation development to automate assays on an Integrated Laboratory Automation System (ILAS). You will also perform characterization and/or optimization of fully automated assays. In this group, we have the opportunity to design and execute comparability studies between manual assay and fully automated assay as well as support automated assay transfer and investigations for the QC Bioassay/Biochemistry groups. We provide technical support, guidance and supervision for release, stability, and in-process testing and assay development on ILAS and support ILAS equipment qualification and software validation work.

As a QC Scientist, a typical day might include the following:
  • Bridging assays with code/programming and work with programmers to facilitate automation protocol/code writing for assays to be automated on the ILAS.
  • Learning and writing automation protocol/code for automated assays.
  • Performing assay development/comparability studies/troubleshooting on ILAS for the QC Bioassay/Biochemistry group.
  • Reviewing/modifying/creating test procedures and assays for automated assays.
  • Evaluating and bringing in new methodologies/techniques when needed.
  • Facilitating automated assay transfer from R&D and to business partners.
  • Organizing automated analytical assay transfer internally and externally.
  • Participating in technical troubleshooting and problem investigation.
  • Reviewing analytical development reports and any other technical documents for technical correctness and regulatory compliance for automated assays.

To be considered for this position you must have a Ph.D. in biology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field. Ideal candidates will have the capacity to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
