Job Description

Kite is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in transfer and validation of Analytical Methods used to characterize innovative T cell therapies for cancer treatment as a Research Scientist in Analytical Ops. In this role you will play an integral role as a key team member of the Analytical Science and Transfer team, focused on the Technology and Method Transfer of assays developed within Analytical Development used for analytical characterization of Kite's autologous T cell products. You will collaborate with multiple branches of the organization, organize and analyze results, manage the End-to-end Analytical Development accountabilities of a Technology Transfer, and communicate/present status updates in cross-functional team meetings.

Responsibilities (include but limited to):
  • Accountable for method transfer from analytical development to multiple branches of Kite, including Research, Clinical, Commercial, as well as, external partners
  • Drive project plans to enable the success of pipeline and commercial products in Kite's portfolio
  • Participate in improvement initiatives and Lifecycle Management of Analytical Methods
  • Impart knowledge of Analytical Methods and the equipment and instruments for which they support to members of Analytical Development
  • Be accountable for the success of technology transfer to Quality Control Laboratories and internal Analytical Development Testing Laboratories
  • Work with development teams to advance characterization of autologous T cell therapy products
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
  • PhD with 0+ years of experience in Immunology or other Life Science Field OR
  • Masters with 6+ years of experience in Immunology or other Life Science Field OR
  • Bachelors with 8+ years experience in Immunology or other Life Science Field OR
  • High School Diploma with 12+ years experience in Immunology or other Life Science Field

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with flow cytometry or cell-based bioassays, ELISA, and qPCR/ddPCR techniques
  • Expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Experience with Project Management and Operational Excellence Tools is a plus, including MS Teams, MS Project, Smartsheet, and A3 Charters
  • Experience with assay validation, release and characterization testing is a plus
  • Demonstrate a strong skill set and knowledge in analytical assay development and assay optimization
  • Motivated, detail oriented and good problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
