Novartis Gene Therapies is seeking a summer intern to assist with business processes within the global engineering and facilities (GEF) department. The intern will be involved in general support of the Vice President of Global Engineering and Facilities and their staff. The intern will be assigned projects based on the individual's interest and skill set. Areas of involvement could be business process analytics, data mining, creating visual data deliverables and interactive dashboards, operational excellence projects and assisting with creating of visual factories to support the global engineering and facilities initiatives.

Responsibilities

The intern will be involved in general support of the Vice President of Global Engineering and Facilities and upon assignment will be paired with a mentor and given independent assignments.

Possible activities include:
  • Supports business process analytics and data mining
  • Creates interactive dashboards
  • Identifies Operational Excellence opportunities and assists with implementation
  • Develops Visual Factories for Global Engineering and Facilities Operations

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a 4 year program, or recently completed a bachelor's degree in a science, engineering or business related field (e.g. chemical engineering, bioengineering, biochemistry, computer science, quality engineering, finance, business, data science or similar).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidates should have ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Candidates should have effective problem-solving, collaboration, and written and oral communication skills.
  • 3.0 or better GPA.
  • Experience with QLIK Sense, Tableau, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint preferred, but not required.


The level of this position will be based on the final candidate's qualifications.
