Job Description

The Director, Global Market Research will act as strategic partner to frame, investigate, and answer key business questions globally via the range of primary research methodologies and secondary data analysis.

The incumbent will work across all CSL Behring therapy areas (TAs): Immunology, Hematology, Transplant, Cardiovascular & Metabolism, and Respiratory, as well as Digital, along with the GCIA lead to plan, recommend, develop and oversee all functional outputs to support the life cycle management and global commercialization efforts of our inline and pipeline portfolios across above mentioned CSL Behring TAs. The position scope is global, and entails close and diligent collaboration across a variety of functional areas including Global TAs, regional commercial operations, Clinical Research, R&D, Finance, Regulatory & Business Development among other disciplines.

The roles also includes leading and managing a small team of market research professionals, prioritizing and allocating their time, in line with business priorities and budgets

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of primary research plan for providers and patients including brand/market development research (e.g. attitudinal segmentation, patient journeys, quantitative awareness & usage etc.) and evaluative research on various programs (brand positioning, message testing, A&P etc.) across CSLB strategic therapeutic areas
  • Design, lead and execute qualitative and quantitative primary market research projects to address key business questions relating to commercial products and/or pipeline stage products. Understanding the business need and designing a project which includes methodology selection
  • Act as an internal knowledge expert and strategic business partner, working collaboratively with respective teams(s) as well as other cross-company and cross-functional partners. Due to the nature of the work, the incumbent must be able to manage complexity, think analytically and allocate time effectively between multiple priorities or therapeutic areas
  • Proactively communicate and facilitate discussion with marketing / commercial teams to ensure that insights are considered in decision-making and planning; integrate a variety of sources/studies to present strategic options to the extended team; provide consultative guidance to marketing / commercial team(s) around commercial insights to facilitate brand strategic planning cycle
  • Closely collaborate/partner with the Global Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, and Commercial Analytics & Data Strategy teams to assist with analysis to inform the strategic assumptions that are built into short-term and long-term brand and portfolio plans
  • Leverage partnerships with local/regional affiliates to identify best practices in market research; and lead a market research community of practice among them
  • Work with Legal, Global Product Safety & Pharmacovigilance (PV), Compliance and Data Protection to ensure all market research materials and contracts/vendors abide by CSL Behring policies for the relevant geographies. Ensure the primary market research are executed in compliant manner consistent with the values of the organization, following global research and data sharing policies; and working with internal teams to maintain, define and update procedures and policies as needed
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for key commercial and business insights, delivering material in a succinct and effective manner to better communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure market research projects are delivered within agreed upon timelines and budget. Manage Global Market Research budget/OpEx. Manage appropriate resource allocation depending on evolving priorities and requirements of the key internal stakeholders
  • Talent and team management: identify the best talent; mentor, motivate and develop internal staff. Work with limited resources and identify opportunities to involve strategic vendors by evaluating their capabilities and recommending innovative engagement options

  • Bachelor degree in business or science discipline; MBA preferred, 10+ years' sales, marketing, medical or related business operations experience, experience in market research and analytics in healthcare, research and consulting firm, or pharmaceutical/biotech company.
  • Experience of executing/leading qualitative/quantitative market research across multiple countries.
  • Experience in rare-diseases within CSL Behring focused therapy areas as well as specialty product analytics is considered a plus

  • • Knowledge of relevant legal, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • • Prior management and business operations experience preferred
