Omeros is currently recruiting a Regional Business Director for the Central USA region (OH, KY, MI, IN, WI, IA, IL, MN, SD, ND, NE, KS, MO, TN, AR, MS, ) to join our Sales Leadership team while reporting to our Vice President of Sales. In this role, you will lead, teach, motivate and inspire regional sales personnel to achieve and/or exceed sales and earnings for Omeros. You will translate strategy to action, creating and setting a vision for the team, and building a productive, positive and innovative team culture. As a Regional Business Director, you will develop, communicate and execute business plans while leading a team of dynamic sales professionals.

This person will be expected to work remotely from this region, preferably while based in a major metropolitan area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit leadership of the region and leadership within the organization by setting a standard of excellence
  • Exercise judgment, integrity and equitable management practices necessary to guide the day-to-day activities of a diverse team
  • Develop and maintain solid customer relationships with key executives, decision-influencers and decision-makers at major bone marrow transplant centers, clinics and other accounts
  • Plan, track, reinforce and document measures of sales force effectiveness (i.e., adherence to strategy, tactical implementation, program planning, proper use of funds, reach and frequency on targets, etc.) and performance at the regional level in order to meet National sales objectives
  • Provide feedback and coaching to sales team, responsible for enhancing their selling skills, developing expert product and disease state knowledge, customer focus, and increasing skills in time management and resource allocation
  • Recruit, hire and manage a team of specialists within the Omeros sales organization; Work with team to create business plans, territory management and provide mentoring and coaching as appropriate
  • Maintain strict compliance (both in your own behavior and the overall behavior of sales team) with a commercial compliance policy, as well as all applicable federal and state laws and guidance relating to product promotion and information dissemination
  • Responsible for understanding, analyzing, and effectively communicating scientific/technical business information, through understanding of applicable pharmaceutical marketing & sales regulations, guidelines, and policies
  • Analyze and coordinate activities resulting from identified industry trends, competitor's resources and practices
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as needed
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master of Business or advanced degree preferred
  • 10 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a minimum of 5 years of management level experience in the pharmaceutical, immunology, biologic/biotech, or medical device industries which may include district
  • management, account management, marketing management, and/or product management experience or the equivalent
  • Experience in district/regional sales position at a pharmaceutical organization
  • Launch experience required with demonstrated track record of successfully hiring sales teams
  • Specialty experience required, oncology and hematology experience preferred
  • Experience working with major Blood and Marrow Transplant centers and the key opinion leaders within those centers
  • Above-average proficiency with basic technology tools (e.g. MS-Office, Veeva CRM, etc.)
  • Other experience in a commercial function such as operations, sales training, or marketing with increasing responsibility preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with management, peers, and subordinates
  • Integrity
  • Approximately 40% travel is required including overnight travel
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings/client sites
  • Ability to attend sales meetings at off-site locations
