We Are Genetic Navigators bringing together passionate, creative and dedicated professionals to join a rapidly-growing startup on our mission to translate novel genetic insights into lifesaving medicines. We are integrating human genetics and functional genomics to decode the mysteries of genetic modifiers, leading us to new medicines we'll develop for a range of severe diseases.

We Are Seeking an exceptional, hands-on researcher to contribute to challenging projects in drug discovery and target discovery for cardiovascular disease. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in biology within drug discovery, including experience in target validation, hit finding or lead optimization. In addition to program responsibilities, you will aid target discovery, generating innovative screens to search for modifiers of disease. We are modality agnostic and campaigns may include small molecule, nucleic acid or biologic therapeutics.

Your Role In Navigating The Maze:
  • You will work in close collaboration with human genetics and functional genomics to design and interpret studies for new target identification
  • You will have the opportunity to lead interdisciplinary drug discovery project teams.
  • You will lead target validation efforts and design and implement assays for therapeutic discovery.
  • You will contribute to writing patents, reports and scientific publications.
  • You will manage and mentor junior research colleagues while promoting a culture of rigorous and broad scientific interest

Your Navigation Tools:
  • PhD in a relevant life science field with 2+ years of industry experience with a good understanding of drug discovery.
  • Deep expertise in cell biology and expertise designing complex assays for new targets
  • Experience in cardiovascular disease is a plus; experience in small molecule is plus
  • Hands-on experience with standard molecular and cellular biology techniques, biochemistry/chemical biology and proven technical expertise in compound screening (cell and biochemical assay formats).
  • Prior experience managing research associates and leading projects is preferred
  • Highly motivated to excel in a drug discovery environment that is highly collaborative and cross functional.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, excellent record-keeping skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
