Position Summary:

We are looking for a PhD level Scientist to support translational studies for our drug discovery efforts. The ideal candidate should have a background in hematology, with a focus on pharmacodynamic studies and clinical biomarkers. The applicant must be able to work independently and within a team towards generating key research models and evaluating biomarkers to support preclinical and clinical research activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Research, develop and execute pharmacodynamic assays in ex vivo samples from relevant murine disease models to characterize and to elucidate mechanism of action for lead candidates
  • Oversee preclinical translational studies in non-malignant hematology
  • Liaise with clinical development teams in preparation for clinical studies
  • Oversee CRO and academic collaborators involved in preclinical studies
  • Plan, execute, analyze, and document experiments and present results at internal meetings
  • Attend and present at scientific conferences as applicable

  • Ph.D. degree in biology, or related discipline with 1-2 years' experience in the biotech or academic setting
  • Experience in translational biology aspects of small molecule drug development. A non-malignant hematology background is highly desirable
  • Ability to interact cross functionally with other team members and departments is critical
  • Focuses on applying technical knowledge and analytical thinking to support organizational goals
  • Ensures timelines and key tasks are clearly defined
  • Demonstrates openness to ideas and feedback from team members
  • Organized, self-motivated, able to multitask and deliver results with high attention to detail to help drive projects forward in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
