As a key member, this position will work closely with our Corporate Communications Team in support of managing internal and external communications to inform and engage our growing workforce. The Corporate Communications Specialist will lead in facilitation and execution of the communications plan, programs, developing content and must collaborate with corporate communications group (LTD) from time to time including PR, social strategy that enhance and sustain strong employee engagement. This is an opportunity to help ensure our employees understand Santen’s vision, are informed of our progress and feel personally connected to the company and each other. This role manages many high visibility projects and experience in project management with the ability to promote a positive public image and control the dissemination of information on the company’s behalf.

  • Leads and develop the editorial calendar for the company intranet, the Americas Portal (regional).
  • Create specific communications action plans, timelines, and defined deliverables that support the internal messages helping Santenites shape culture, drive engagement, and deliver results.
  • Oversee corporate websites and multiple key technology websites (e.g.,, etc.), collaborating with content owners and external hosting vendors to manage user experience, content, and the seamless pull-through.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate employee communications content into overall company goals and messaging.
  • Ensure consistent corporate branding, messaging, tone, visual cohesiveness, and compliance across Santen’s digital and social content, PowerPoint presentations (social posting, updates, etc.), and communications channels.
  • Coordinate and provide organizational support for Town Hall meetings and company-sponsored events.
  • Shape and implement new communications programs/initiatives, as well as maintain existing programs and meetings, to keep our internal teams informed, aligned, and engaged.
  • Develop guidelines and processes to ensure efficiency and scalability of programs and meetings.
  • Maintain and develop social media metrics, analytics and reporting with clearly defined performance metrics. Maintain vigilant “social listening” to monitor activity and respond to trends as needed.
  • As appropriate, travel to support execution of communications activities around industry congresses and/or events to optimally “amplify” key news.
  • Act as a Santen brand champion, helping to maintain company reputation, values and culture.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects and administrative duties as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or equivalent experience in corporate communications or pharmaceutical industry
  • 2 or more years experience in corporate communications or project coordination, with increasing responsibility and proven ability to plan and organize a wide range of communication initiatives.
  • Public relations and media training background including branding, key messaging, copy writing and layout design experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand multiple, diverse stakeholders, and anticipate impact of company actions on corporate reputation.
  • Excited at the potential to help build the corporate digital media capability at Santen
  • Must be able to work with minimal instruction or supervision.
  • Ability to be flexible and focused despite distractions and changing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong PowerPoint slide composition and graphic designing skills a plus
  • Experience working with and building relationships with high-level executives, as well as significant interaction with outside vendors, customers and external business partners
  • Experience with social networks and implementation of social media marketing

Experience with HTML, CSS, and working with content management systems (CMS) a plus
