LABORATORY FOR GENOMICS RESEARCH / BIOCHEMISTRY & BIOPHYSICSThe Laboratory for Genomics Research (LGR) is a new functional genomics center on the UCSF Mission Bay campus. The LGR represents a novel hybrid model that brings together researchers from UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, and GlaxoSmithKline under a single roof working on projects both together and independently. The new laboratory will also be a resource for investigators at both UC campuses who will be able to access and use the LGR to answer their own biological and biomedical questions. The LGR will use CRISPR/Cas9-based functional genomics tools to decipher biological functions of genes, identifying new drug targets and developing new technologies that will advances discovery in both academia and industry. A focus of the lab is to deploy deeper phenotypic readouts such as single cell sequencing and imaging to uncover new biology. The LGR is searching for motivated candidates to contribute to the computational and bioinformatic efforts to analyze and interpret these unique genomic datasets.ABOUT UCSF The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care. It is the only campus in the 10-campus UC system dedicated exclusively to the health sciences.
