Position Overview:

Molecular Templates is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our Supply Chain team as a Demand Planning Manager. This role will develop MTEMs demand forecast models, conduct routine review meetings, and generate KPIs based on the data available to them. This position is accountable for ensuring internal and external stakeholders are informed through regular reporting and communication. This role requires strong project management and relationship skills, strategic initiative, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities will include:
  • Develop unconstrained demand forecast models based on forecasts, demand patterns, historical data, commercial intelligence, and industry trends for the relevant portfolio on a strategic and tactical basis
  • Conduct the monthly demand review meetings with key stakeholders to gain concurrence on demand plan, review forecast assumptions and root cause for over/underperformance
  • Measure and analyze forecast accuracy metrics to drive improvements
  • Primary interface between the Procurement, Planning, and Logistics teams ensuring that production capacity and plans are in line to support the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual demand forecast, by leading the organizations S&OP process and systems
  • Manage a team to ensure Inventory and Demand Management processes are fully executed
  • Generate inventory projections and other Key Performance Indicators and reports for Sales & Operations Planning purposes
  • Plan ramp up and ramp down scenarios for new product introductions and product discontinuations
  • Supports the procurement and disposition of raw materials in response to MRP and Manufacturing requirements.
  • Identify and communicate any supply delays that may impact manufacturing and/or clinical studies; proactively resolve/escalate delays
  • Escalate business critical decisions points to management
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of suppliers, technologies, manufacturing processes and purchasing strategies for assigned areas.
  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Perform employee evaluations and provide constructive feedback
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to translate complex forecast approaches into terms clearly understood by various client groups including Senior Management
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under heavy pressure and tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of S&OP principles and practices

  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • 5+ years Planner/Buyer experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry, required
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, required
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry background, preferred
  • P.M. and/or CPIM certification, preferred
  • Experience and passion in project management, preferred
  • Experience working within GMP/Quality systems
  • Knowledge and comprehension of MRP II and its operating environment
  • Prior experience interacting with production, marketing, demand planning, pharmaceutical quality and regulatory organizations
  • Strong computer skills in Excel, Outlook, Word, etc. in addition to experience working within shared work environments (i.e. Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Box, etc.)
  • Developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Able to analyze and manipulate large sets of raw data, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations
  • Ability to gain understanding from provided instructions and work toward goals with minimal supervision
  • Ability and desire to work in an environment involving a degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness

Reporting Structure:

This position has supervisory responsibilities. This position reports to Director, Supply Chain.
