Manager, User Experience Design
As the UX Design Manager, you will help nurture and scale a creative, design thinking culture ready to deliver Abbvie's next-generation digital solutions. This position requires a creative creative problem solver with a proven record of leading design teams to deliver user-centric design solutions for global organizations with extensive R&D and B-to-C commercial functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Help define and lead the UX design function within AbbVie's Design Center of Excellence
  • Build practical UX design capabilities that appropriately pairs the right approaches with project size to achieve high quality outcomes at reasonable cost
  • Form, lead, and influence a complementary team of internal and external resources to offer an enterprise scale UX design practice and services
  • Create process flows, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and mockups to effectively communicate high-level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors
  • Present design solutionstointernal stakeholdersin ways that deepen their understanding of how the design solves the problem for the user at hand
  • Provide design leadership to technical teams through on-going application reviews

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Outstanding communicator - both verbally and in writing
  • Strong consultation and collaboration skills
  • Strong practical knowledge of user-centered design methodologies, usability principles, information architecture and interaction design
  • Highly proficient with leading design tools such as Sketch, Adobe CC, Figma and InVision
  • Highly proficient building wireframes and interactive prototypes for web and mobile
  • Experience leading and mentoring designers and managing established or growing design teams
  • Has worked on enterprise software solutions and / or complex business solutions
  • A minimum of 10+ years industry/consulting or academic experience is required. A highly relevant BA + MS or MBA degree or equivalent certification is preferred (Computer Science, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction).
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience creating great user-centered design solutions.
