Job Description:
Market Access Supply Chain engages channel stakeholders to provide access to product, services and resources for an exceptional patient experience. The Supply Chain Marketing Operations Associate Director leads a team responsible for driving and implementing strategic channel initiatives, Pharmacy and Wholesaler program management, as well as data contracting strategies for AbbVie's portfolio. Marketing Operations engages and supports both Supply Chain Account Executives and Marketing by tracking performance, managing resources and ensuring the programs are compliant and consistently delivered with high impact. The Associate Director is responsible for staying abreast of market dynamics, have a comprehensive understanding of key drivers and trends, and the proven ability to utilize available information, data sets and metrics to effectively engage cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • The Supply Chain Marketing Operations Associate Director is responsible for the direct management of the team and ensuring strategic focus, alignment, project management, and tactical execution.
  • Participate in setting overall contracting and data strategy, translating strategies into execution plans and ensuring implementation and compliance.
  • Provide leadership to and motivate direct reports to ensure they contribute to the team in a strategic, meaningful way, as well as ensuring that they deliver to deadlines and objectives.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and establish impact of partnerships and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitors and delivers executive reporting deliverables for ongoing engagements and budgets to ensure AbbVie is receiving the appropriate data, services and support; anticipates, forecasts, and secures appropriate budget funds and support based on current and future business needs.
  • Provides leadership and centralized management, planning, development and execution for cross-functional projects involving Supply Chain Marketing, Brand Marketing, Demand Planning, Business Technology Services, Compliance, Legal, Pharmacovigilance, Audit and others to achieve key strategic business objectives.
  • Stay current on policy developments and discuss with cross functional partners the potential impact on patients and service delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to all corporate and divisional compliance policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborates with Supply Chain Marketing, Market Access Brand Marketing, Patient Services, Marketing Analytics and Business Insights, and Business Technology Services
  • Support the Supply Chain Account Executives by establishing and maintaining dashboards for data and analytics on stakeholder performance and KPIs
  • Leverage data, analytics and strategic mindset to identify and implement process improvements and standards to drive timely contract management, maintain compliance and improve productivity.


  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years' experience in healthcare and/or pharmaceutical industry or management consulting. Advanced degree (e.g. MBA or MA) preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding strategic thinking and thought leadership with storytelling capabilities and ability to coach others in these areas.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a matrix organization, able to motivate and inspire team members to high performance levels and experience influencing without authority.
  • Skill to proactively assess changing business conditions and agility to adapt accordingly.
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex issues to higher level management and contribute to high level presentations and discussions.
  • Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, quick learning, adapting and creativity in problem solving.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and collaboration skills; proven experience in building effective teams and creating a productive work culture.
  • Ability to interact effectively with/present to (verbally and in writing) the highest levels of the organization.
