Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individuals to join our Summer Internship Program! As an intern at Kite, you'll have the unique opportunity to learn about cell therapy from some of the brightest minds in biotech while making a meaningful impact. The Role

The intern will draw upon existing data sets to develop an integrated Supplier Issues and Performance Portal which tracks supplier performance, supplier issues, Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), Supplier Initiated Change Requests (SICs), and material planning escalations in one place. The portal should also be able to roll up data per site, per region, per material, and per supplier. This tool will help coordinate and accurately prioritize supplier issues for escalation and action.

As an Intern within Global Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team (GSSP) you will network and work cross-functionally within Kite, across Sourcing & Procurement, Planning, Supplier Quality Management, Quality Control, and Site Material Management teams to help in implementation of an integrated Supplier Issues & Performance Portal. You will gain understanding of how each of those functions interact with suppliers and advance supplier issues. You will also learn more about the end to end supply chain as the root causes and details to these issues will be segmented and utilized as intelligence from the tool. You will deploy DMAIC strategy and project management processes as well as communication skills to seek and include feedback across a cross-function group to deliver an integrated tool which meets the needs of all partners. You will work heavily with tools at Kite including EBS, Supply Chain Portal, Smart Sheet, Tableau and/or other web platforms to improve or deliver the Supplier Issues & Performance Portal.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Gain access and proficiency in existing systems; network with cross-functional Global Raw Material Team, and get their suggestions.
  • Gain understanding of current state of supplier issues & performance tracking, problems & opportunities.
  • Develop and implement supplier issues & performance portal.
  • Summarize and present final results of project, including achievements, lessons learned, and recommendations to the business.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years or older.
  • Must be currently enrolledin a full-time graduate degree program at an accredited university/college.
  • Must have completed at least one year of study at an accredited university/college prior to internship commencing.
  • Must be enrolled in the Fall Semester at an accredited university/college after the completion of the internship.
  • Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between June and September.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without Kite sponsorship.
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or master's degree in the biological sciences or software development
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to identify issues and seek solutions.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Sourcing / Supplier Management.
  • Experience developing integrated tools for broad partners.
