The Senior Manager, Medical Affairs Technology Enablement, serves as a primary point of contact for field medical, medical directors, and other medical affairs partners to provide support for technology solutions. This includes supporting the implementation/replacement of systems, maintenance of existing systems, and ongoing user support and training, in close collaboration with IT, commercial systems, RMD Training and other business partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day technical support in collaboration with IT and vendors to medical affairs business system owners and users, including issue identification and resolution, addition/removal of users, enhancement request gathering, and release management across multiple systems
  • Lead assigned aspects of large-scale technology solution projects, including project management, in collaboration with IT partners, such as understanding business processes and requirements and conveying to appropriate partners
  • Track progress of requests, timelines, and deliverables of system projects through completion and deployment
  • Manage field medical territory alignment and ensure successful flow to downstream processes/systems with cross-functional partners
  • Provide requested data sets in preparation for report generation, data aggregation, and analysis of medical affairs activity data
  • Collaborate with medical affairs leadership and IT to develop ongoing technology roadmap for medical affairs
  • Identify situations requiring guidance from Legal, Compliance, HR, IT or other partners and obtain timely feedback as appropriate
  • Work with colleagues in medical affairs operations and functional area leads to create, deliver, and maintain appropriate training materials associated with medical affairs technology solutions
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, including streamlining and automation of processes, through leverage of technology solutions
  • Identify and share trends in technology to ensure maximal efficiency for medical affairs functional needs
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks and projects with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Operate within established compliance and regulatory guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • BA/BS or higher in computer science, information systems or related field or relevant combination of education and experience required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry; experience in medical affairs strongly preferred
  • Experience with business support of technical systems, including user support, testing, and project management of releases; experience with Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault Medcomms, and publication software (e.g., Datavision) preferred
  • Strong project management skills and experience are required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently to drive projects forward
  • Experience working with remote team members
  • Proficiency with MS Office and/or Office365 required
  • Must have ability to learn to use new business applications across hardware tools (e.g., PC, iPad)
