JOB PURPOSE

The Manager of Communications and Training support will be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of communications as set out in the Enterprise Applications communications strategy with accountability for the management and oversight of specific initiatives to drive a greater understanding and appreciation of Enterprise Applications strategy. Additionally, this role will also be responsible for the coordination and support of Enterprise Application training that further supports our commitment to a high-performing culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Key contributor to building best-in-class communications practices that advance Enterprise Applications ability to build and sustain its culture story.
  • Support strategies and initiatives that engage employees through compelling communications outreach, programs, and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development, execution and tracking of a multifaceted visibility plan with initiatives and programs that contribute to advancing Enterprise Applications strategic priorities. As part of the plan, partner with internal stakeholders, utilizing effective vehicles to drive clearly defined messages across all channels of distribution, reaching and engaging employees.
  • Work collaboratively with peers to continually identify high impact internal communications opportunities to enhance AbbVie image and reputation; provide leadership, develop employee strategies and execution of related internal programs and initiatives.
  • Manage planning, logistics and execution of Enterprise Applications town halls and luncheons.
  • Coordinate with BTS Communications and other functional communications teams, as needed, to ensure all employee communications and communications part of our visibility plan are coordinated and delivered most effectively.
  • Ensure all communications are consistent and aligned with the company's corporate brand identity, strategic direction, business philosophies and general practices.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and governance of Enterprise Applications multi-faceted training programs.
  • Work with team leads to ensure that individual programs training needs are consolidated, deployed, and managed across Enterprise Applications.
  • Work with the Enterprise Applications leadership team to ensure that training standards and requirements are kept current.

ROLES
  • Stays aware of internal business environments and recommendation communication strategies, topics, content around the environment.
  • Escalates significant issues to management and identifies performance and resource gaps relative to process improvement initiatives.
  • Influences EAS BTS leadership and project teams on communication strategy and methodologies.
  • Strategic thinker. Takes accountability for ideas from inception to delivery, in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm success.
  • Identify and develop internal spokespeople.
  • Manage review process for internal communications. Keep various parties apprised of status, timelines, and directional shifts to ensure smooth review process and to meet Enterprise Application timelines.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Integrated Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent.
  • 7 years of experience and proven track record of success in managing employee communications.
  • Experience in the healthcare/bio-pharma industry a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with knowledge of emerging communication trends and technologies.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to anticipate company and team needs.
  • Experience working with senior management and executive presence.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multitask.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Public Relations, Integrated Marketing, Communications, Journalism preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams towards task completion and facilitate consensus across key BTS personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to enact change across an organization in the absence of a direct reporting relationship.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment where needs and priorities can change with tight deadline.
