The Finance Lead oversees the Actual reporting requirements in Global Commercial Finance (GCF). Strong focus on preparation of meaningful management schedules and executive commentary as well as thorough working knowledge of current reporting systems. Ensures compliance with financial policies and procedures. Reviews management analysis of Actuals / Plan / Update / LBE vs. benchmark results. Effective interaction with cross functional peers to gather, review and prepare financial analysis to Key Stakeholders. Provides accurate and timely analysis to meet Global Commercial Finance, AbbVie Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis and other stakeholder timelines.

The primary responsibilities of the Finance Lead include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversees monthly Actuals reporting, S&OP and Quarterly Earnings reporting for Senior Leadership.
  • Supports review of materials prepared for Plan/Update/LBE cycles.
  • Works directly with Commercial Areas, GCF function teams, AFP&A, Global Marketing, and Margin Accounting Group to understand results and effectively communicate results to Senior Management for reporting cycles.
  • Supports annual review of incentive compensation plan with Commercial and HR Senior Leadership.
  • Provides management with clear insights into drivers of business and financial performance and risk; assesses business/market opportunities and informs/recommends prioritization decisions.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and assisting with special projects or initiatives, as assigned, which vary based on AbbVie's business transactions and priorities.
  • Leads team projects and process improvements as needed.


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA or MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive and related experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required. Previous experience with TM1, HFM, SAP and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to successfully interact with Affiliates / Areas and Senior Management.

  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
