The Editor, Strategic Global Labeling is responsible for contributing to the quality of labeling documents using skills in copyediting and proofreading and quality control (QC). Responsible for documenting the review and findings using departmental label QC processes. Act as business process owner for departmental SOPs.

Responsibilities:
  • Independently conduct copyediting, proofreading, and departmental QC of assigned labeling documents within required timelines.
  • Contribute to creation, implementation, revision, and communication of departmental label QC processes.
  • Interact with and support Strategic Global Labeling colleagues; seek input from personnel in applicable cross-functional areas (e.g. Global and Area Regulatory, Safety, Statistics, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs) as needed.
  • Assist with tasks including routing labeling documents for approval in GLS, tracking SME QC completion, closing label change requests, managing label images, maintaining department Sharepoint sites, and other activities to be identified.
  • Recognize issues that may require escalation to management and proactively notify SME/document owner.
  • Maintain and update labeling style guides in consultation and cooperation with SMEs.
  • Act as business process owner for assigned departmental SOPs. As needed, work with SMEs to update and edit SOPs for consistency with related documents.
  • Prioritize activities to meet the objectives of the assigned projects/responsibilities within agreed timelines and with an appropriate quality level.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required.
  • 3+ years of copyediting experience required. Professional certification or credentials in copyediting preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Mastery of English spelling, grammar and punctuation and ability to make constructive suggestions for improvement/clarity.
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with establishing and applying the principles of style guides.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing workload that requires prioritization and planning to support immediate/urgent business needs.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
  • 2+ years relevant life sciences experience preferred.
  • Project management experience desired.
