We currently have a Software Architect on the Research computational engineering team who will build an ecosystem of services that expose the research computation services as a robust and highly available service to the rest of Regeneron. The team works on our Research computation platform ( DEVA ) which empowers our researchers to easily use scientific applications deployed across a wide range or supercomputer and cloud. The service includes computing cycles on several high-performance services equipped with a variety of research software packages & with distinct computing options to choose from. It is the core foundation in driving some of the early discovery, clinical, and manufacturing.
In this role, a typical day might include the following:
  • Propose and evolve Scientific Computing architectural concepts and features and ensure consistency with strategic plans and roadmaps.
  • Design HPC architecture specifications and establish architectural requirements as per the scientific application need.
  • Earn Trust of our Research Partners and help them innovate, paving the way for the next decade of HPC solutions.
  • Lead design and realization of the services in scope.
  • Contribute to features that help next-generation GPUs advance the state of AI.
  • Analyze the behaviors of various deep learning methods, proposing new features to accelerate or enable various method and studying the benefits of proposed features.
  • Evaluate Advanced Technology Initiatives and their applicability to solving specific algorithms of interest.

To be considered for the role, you must have a MS degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related field. 7+ years' experience developing HPC, Machine learning, computer vision or data analytics workflows. 3+ years of relevant experience in the following relevant areas: Machine learning (with focus on Deep Neural Networks), including solid grasp of DL fundamentals; Experience adapting and training DNNs for various tasks; Experience developing code for one or more of the DNN training frameworks (such as Caffe, TensorFlow or Torch): Numerical analysis, Performance analysis and optimization & Computer architecture. 5+ years' experience building and scaling production software system. Prior experience porting/migrating HPC workload to cloud. Programming proficiency with C/C++/Python. Understanding of the tradeoffs between GPU computing (CUDA, OpenGL, OpenACC) and HPC (MPI, OpenMP) is a huge plus. Familiarity with hardware accelerator designs for FPGA or ASIC solutions. Experience developing/deploying on Linux using Golang, Java, Python, C#, NodeJS or other popular frameworks.
