Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Biostatistics to join our Biometrics team. You will have the opportunity to work on Immuno-oncology trials for novel CAR-T therapies. You will act as an in-house specialist in applying statistical methodology and innovation to support Kite Pharma's Clinical Development pipeline.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in evaluating alternative or innovative methods of study design and analysis; Provide statistically sound scientific methodology for study design and data analysis to meet project objectives in accordance to regulatory guidance and industry standards.
  • Support clinical trials, as needed, working with multiple functions, providing sound statistical and operational input, including study and program design, writing of the protocol sections, statistical analysis plans (SAP), clinical study reports (CSR), regulatory documents or scientific publications.
  • Collaborate with the other functional teams such as Programming and Data Management to ensure appropriate data collection and reporting, as well as Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, Translational Medicine and Bioinformatics on the analysis and interpretation of trial data.
  • Lead the collaboration with academia and vendors and mentor other staff in applied statistical methodology topics; Identify and evaluate innovative statistical methods for efficient trial design and analysis for clinical and translational research, and transform promising methods into ready-to-use toolkits.


Basic Qualifications:
  • BS/BA in Statistics with 8+ Years of post-school experience, as a statistician in clinical development in Pharma/CRO or as a researcher in an academic institute with a focus on clinical trial methodologies

OR
  • MS/MA in Statistics with 6+ Years of post-school experience, as a statistician in clinical development in Pharma/CRO or as a researcher in an academic institute with a focus on clinical trial methodologies

OR
  • PhD of Statistics with 3 + years of post-school experience, as a statistician in clinical development in Pharma/CRO or as a researcher in an academic institute with a focus on clinical trial methodologies


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent scientific background and capability in understanding and explaining innovative, complex statistical methodology and concepts
  • Excellent technical expertise in SAS and/or R with a proven track record in extending and implementing statistical concepts into ready-to use toolkits
  • Ability to communicate, challenge and extend complex methodological topics and interact with other statisticians on statistical methodology issues for pivotal trials or complex projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally
  • Expert knowledge in one or more of the following methodological areas: experimental design, survival analysis, missing value handling, dose finding, event projection, Bayesian statistics, subgroup identification; machine learning
  • Fluency in written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
